  9. So I should be back Tuesday on this fully, tomorrow I'm busy with university and I have a careers event in the evening. Gonna be fun.

    For whoever reads this, I want you to reply back your goal like a real target and a step you will take to achieve it. There's a Harvard study well known that people who write down their goals and steps are so much more likely to achieve it than those who don't. I will do mine also in the coming days inshallah.

    I want to start being more consistent with all of my work, and be less distracted. For this to happen, without any setbacks, I am going to set a time for myself, only during when, I will allow myself to use my gadgets. Then, I will follow great discipline, and would get down to start working everyday, without any derail.

  13. And you have to try your hardest no matter what, motivate yourself to become a better person through this and not give in to the weakness.

    Hello friends,

    I'd figure I'd introduce myself and describe to you what is helping me on this journey.

    I'm a senior in high school and musician with many goals in bettering my musicianship and spirituality. Currently I am on Day 79, which is absolutely mind-blowing! I am so grateful to be where I am, at this stage of life filled with many uncertainties. I embrace both the bad and the good, because I know they both contain lessons within themselves and will ultimately make me a better man.

    Saying this leads to what I have gone through so far and what has helped me along this path to a better reality (this might not be so for everyone). Handling urges is a big part of success on this journey. Especially early on, it's important to treat your urges as not something about the sex itself, but about your growth (it's your dopamine-deficient brain wanting that thing that you're not going to give). It seems like whenever one gets an urge, the urge is a subconscious desire to hide some sort of pain occurring in that person's life.

    That's another thing, pain. When on this journey, you will experience some painful thoughts and emotions as they bubble up to the surface. During my flatline (around day 20-50), I questioned whether any of the daily disciplines I implemented were working. They are. For all of us. Because we do improve, even if it's just that one percent per day.

    True success, at least from what I've felt, stems from your ability to face your flaws and to improve yourself in the process.
    It's tough to go inside of yourself and ask (as coach Universal Man in one of his videos said) "What hurts?" You can easily replace a porn and masturbation addiction with another, but overcoming the problems in your life you use as fuel for those those addictions is probably the ultimate quality of a human being. (That was a long sentence, my bad.) Right now, I think I've replaced PMO with a food addiction, but that could just be the fact that I'm a late bloomer, growing, and teenagers generally think they have an eating disorder anyhow. Needless to say, there is a lot to work on now.

    As far as disciplines I have found useful, cold showers and meditation. Cold showers are grounding, and give you a serotonin boost for the day. Meditation relaxes you to the point where you accept the present and any challenges that belie you. Another method is gratefulness. Just thanking the Lord, Allah, Jesus, Gautama Buddha, The Gods of Hinduism, The Universe, or whomever you believe in just makes you feel blessed for what you have in life, even if it isn't ideal.

    My apologies for rambling here.

    Thank you all for being supportive not only to me but for the many who need guidance in a challenging part of our lives.

    Greatness and peace is coming in time to all of us.
