Forgiveness is a key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hate. It is a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness.

History offers a lesson from the time of George Washington, when he was commander-in-chief of the American colonial army. Church pastor Peter Miller was much loved by the townsfolk—except by one villager who scorned all religion and opposed the church on every issue. No friend of the colonial cause, this man was arrested for treason and sentenced to die.
Peter Miller walked 60 miles to plead with George Washington for the man’s pardon. Regretfully the general shook his head, “I’m sorry, but I cannot grant your request to spare your friend.” Quietly Miller replied, “My friend? He is my worst enemy.” Amazed, Washington exclaimed: “What! You have walked all this distance to save an enemy? Then how can I do other than pardon him!”

So... Day 212 here... May be a day of forgiveness as well! ;-) forgive others and also ourselves

I really like this post. Reminds me of a few verses in the Qur'an.

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is God,’ and take the straight path towards Him, the angels come down to them and say, ‘Have no fear or grief, but rejoice in the good news of Paradise, which you have been promised.

We are your allies in this world and in the world to come, where you will have everything you desire and ask for

as a welcoming gift from the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful One.’

Who speaks better than someone who calls people to God, does what is right, and says, ‘I am one of those devoted to God’?

Good and evil cannot be equal; repel evil with what is better and your enemy will become as close as an old and valued friend,

but only those who are steadfast in patience, only those who are blessed with great righteousness, will attain to such goodness.

If a prompting from Satan should stir you, seek refuge with God: He is the All Hearing and the All Knowing.

The night, the day, the sun, the moon, are only a few of His signs. Do not bow down in worship to the sun or the moon, but bow down to God who created them, if it is truly Him that you worship.

Great verses, like I said before holy Prophet Jesus (Eesa in Arabic) [peace be upon him (we say this after every messenger name in Islam)] wisdom is amazing to hear. I really liked hearing this today, forgiveness is always best.

Thank you for that response! I hve a lot of cleaning up to do but its a good start. Carrying around weight for peoole that dont care about you is waste if time. Pick, choose your battles and let the small ones go..

Just a thought i want to share...
Sometimes i m thinking, well i have pass through 200+ days. Isn't so bad a time of pleasure, isn't so dramatic to slip for one-two times. What about a "vacation-day" of rehab ?
Then if I can overcome the moment of weakness, i answer to myself:
"But i said never again. It doesn't matter if i do it ones a day, a week or a year... That's not enough for me. I am in charge here! No my dick, no porn industry, no devil, no my old-self, not my addictions... I am in charge and for sure I don't want to do it EVER AGAIN!"
So it's ok to fall brothers, but not to be ok with it, not to make an excuse to fall without guilts.
The only excuse has to be that we are humans and we have some times of weakness... But no... Never is ok, never make excuses... Neither after 10 years to fall in porn, to start masturbate again... Life, real life, is out of the pornography, and the most important thing is first the heart and then the mind... No our dicks...

Loved that share bro. Never fall, never show weakness.

I spent half my day trying to fix some devices because i forgot my restrictions password. Today i will put a blocker on all of them and tell my friend to change the password. That way i can never turn it back on. Do it what it takes to win the battle. I really feel like its home stretch!!

I've tried multiple times to block all the distractions but the moment I reinstall/unblock them for some work I feel the strong urge, so instead now I have my youtube and other apps and now I am trying to control myself instead of forcefully isolating from distraction. meditation and good sleep helps in that.
