    Hai guys so I'm thinking of doing an experiment and see what the results are, I'll create an account where I'll specify that I'm a women and I'll start using this site with my "alter ego" which is a woman in this case.

    A little background on me is that I have gender dysphoria and don't really identify with men on some levels. So I'm doing an experiment to see how it would be to fully identify myself as a girl on this website and see how it would change the way I would interact with the community.

    The reason I started this thread was to hear other's people opinion about this, the pros and the cons. To see how you would react knowing that someone that you think is a female actually has a different biological sex.
    I won't specify who I'll be as my alter ego, neither will I specify when I'll actually sign up, it may be today, or tomorrow, or in 1 week, or in 1 month. I'll probably need to prepare for this mentally, or not.
    Without further ado let the experiments begin!

    I think you're gonna confuse yourself even more.

    Just look down and you can identify your gender in an instant.

    Willy = boy.
    Fanny = girl.

    Ta-da. I just solved your mystery.

    I think this is a great idea. If you're not feeling completely meshed with the gender you're "supposed" to be, than exploring the other options will more than likely give some experience in what you really want. I do want to say, however, that doing this on the forums is a good START. Maybe trying something actively in person would be more beneficial to the process? Good luck!

    I gotta straighten you out, bro. Sex and gender are different.

    Sex = biological parts.
    Gender = socially constructed roles, behaviors, activities, and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women.

    Genitalia determine what sex you are. What you wear, how you communicate with others, what things you like to do, etc. determines your gender. And that's just the simplified explanation. Our society likes to see gender as binary, or just male and female, when in reality its anything but that. People can have male genitalia but be feminine gendered. Or vice-versa. Or they can have no genitalia. Or they can have no interest in sex whatsoever. It's super complicated.

  5. There is this tale of a family who own a small farm. All the family members work hard to make it work, tend to the cattle, work in the fields and so on. Now their oldest boy, around 15-16 decides that he is tired from all this work. He looks around and sees the family dog napping under the tree. So he decides that from that point on he will identify himself as a dog, because dogs don't have to work in the heat and can take naps.
    So...did he actually became a dog? Nope, it doesn't work that way.

    Just as choosing a gender doesn't work that way either. You can decide that you want to be a woman, you can cut your body up to look like a woman, you can learn how to act like a woman. Do you become a woman? Nope, you just learned new behaviors and altered your outlook.

    Also there is this notion that if sex and gender doesn't seem to match, that it must be that the mind is correct and the body is wrong. On what basis...? What if the body is right, and the problem is in the mind? Like with an anorexic? Or with those people who wants to get rid of their limbs? Then every attempt to change the gender will result in more suffering. Much more than you already endured, that's for sure. You will no longer know who you are, or what you are, and without identity, you have nothing left. Might as well kill yourself. Which more probably happens to people with gender identity issues, such as transgendered or homosexual people. And it's not even about society, because the statistics are the same in the most liberal countries in the world.

    Hmph if I'd decided to change my gender every time I failed as a man, I'd be the most girly girl right now. But this doesn't work like this.

    So yeah.

    Unless you don't actually have a willy (there may be some exceptions, but best you check with a doctor) then I'm pretty sure you're a dude.

    Even dudes who do the surgery and the hormones are still dudes. Just really confused dudes.

    It looks to me that we have some gender/sex ignorance going on here. But I have a feeling no amount of words are going to convince either of you anything. You're still too entrenched in the binary gender way of thinking. This topic is too controversial and has a high probability of turning into a flame war. @axy_david, you have my complete support in finding out who you really are. As for everyone else who still hold on to traditional ways of thinking about gender, I humbly but passionately disagree with you and that's all I have to say about that.

    This is the same guy that previously said that gender segregation helps with ones gender identity.
    I'm happy to see we're finally agreeing upon a subject.
    I'm not against talking to girls, another reason I'm doing this experiment is to help me understand that girls are also humans, not some disgusting crap on my screen.
    Many + points if they happen to be trans as-well.
    Some insider information: I had to do hormones to look like a dude, meaning no boobs *flies away*

    I think if you were transgender, you would know that from a young age because it's caused by a genetic mutation.

    I would say, let us talk. Or at least really talk to some people (family, friends, doctors) if you actually think about changing your gender. In which areas do you not identify with men, and why don´t you? Keep in mind that men come in very different shapes and sizes and with very different behavior. Are you sure can´t identify with any of them?

    Let the talks begin!
    It's like this, when I was a kid I would get along with girls pretty good, while most of the guys would beat the hell out of me. When I got into gymnasium I had to grow my huge beard because there were lots of homosexuals flirting with me, that creeped the hell out of me in the beginning, then I got used to it, then I grew a beard as a homosexual repeller(no offence). That was super effective, except it would also repel pretty much any human. Now I find it charming. I'm weird, so weird.
    In my opinion it's not about how much you identify with the same sex or not, for me at least it's that I see my body growing as it should, but I feel like hell because of it. I hate the fact that I'm so tall, or that my fingers are not as thin as I wish their would, my masculine features especially on my face, and my wide shoulders. Sometimes I wish to cut off my genitals and crap like that. I really envy women for having so many feminine features, however the fact that they still call themselves ugly and uses make-up to make then look even more feminine than they already are blows the lid for me.
    It has affected the way I socialise with women in a bad way. It's really ironic since I had good pretty good relationships with girls when I was a kid. So I thought I should do an experiment firstly to see how I would feel If I was to be treated like a women and secondly to see how my opinion about women will improve if I were to talk from women to women and know how they really are under that feminine face. I obviously know that they are a victim of society, but I'll need to nail it to my brain. In the end this experiment should improve my opinion about women and will give me insight whenever I should change my gender or not. I think starting it in an isolated, on-line environment is a good start, it won't be 100% accurate like in real life, but nevertheless it should give me some good insight.

    It would be cool to see how you are treated by men. See how it feels to be objectified. It must be like being hunted or something.

    I'm betting on it, but not only by men, by women too.
    I'll update my experience if there's interest in it. Maybe do a new section in the womens journal as me, Being a woman in the nofap community

    if men treat you like an object don't have anything to do with them like back off. It is hard to see this sometimes as we want to please people. If someone wants something from you or tells you what to do then get worried cause you are being manipulated for their benefit. I have been treated like this for years by my family cause I am the youngest and would just do what they say so they would be happy with me. This has kept the peace but not helped me grow.
