Day 7 of 31.

I am grateful for:

  • The great party/get-together my friend threw last night.
  • The wonderful cats and dogs I have made friends with over the years.
  • The view of the mountains I have from my window.

Day 8 of 31.

I am grateful for:

  • The killer parade that will be passing a block from my house tonight. I saw it last year, it is amazing.
  • The work I'm getting done for my career. It's going more slowly than planned, yet, there is progress.
  • My increasing powers of being able to relax myself through my Art Visualization technique. The other night I walked down a busy street while in a hurry, and just visualized people in front of me as paintings on my computer that I was viewing during the process. I was surprised at how much it relaxed me, even in the midst of my situation.

Ah, shoot. I missed yesterday. I will do 6 for today.

Day 12/30

I appreciate:
  • The fun adventure in the big city I got to have yesterday with several friends.
  • Onion rings.
  • The dim blue sky during sunset.
  • The awesome lookout I got to see yesterday on the top of a parking garage.
  • My car getting fixed and the financial funds given to me for that.
  • My roommate encouraging me by saying that I want to do something that matters with my work.

Day 9 of 31

I am grateful for:
  • Not being in debt. I have been in the past, and the feeling sucks! And I am aware of how many still are. Yet I am not.
  • Having a job where I'm working a combined two months of the year.
  • That being said, for the moment at least there is a lot of preparation work to be done on the side. I am grateful for finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on a burdensome project. Sooner than later, I will be finished with it.

Day 13/30

I appreciate:
  • The board game night earlier this evening that brought many old friends together for laughter and connection.
  • The amazing city I got to visit today, up from the big one.
  • Seeing the dedication of local people who care about climate change and put so much effort into building an incredible off-the-grid house.

  • Having a clear vision of what I want my career to be, which is something I could not say a year earlier.

Day 14/30

I appreciate:
  • Exhaustion. After doing an intense hike today, being sleep deprived this week, and severely taxing my introvert energy, I feel beat. It is a good feeling though, as I know I am approaching the end. I feel accomplished, knowing I have invested my time well and gave my all.
  • My sister's inviting me to their school performance.
  • The car I got to use to travel around with me friend over this past week.

I appreciate:
  • Getting to thank my professors today for teaching me over this past semester.
  • The good final grades I got.

  • One of the YouTube videos I watched today (from one of my favorite channels) that adds support to the validity and value of this challenge. (Link below)

  • Having the financial means to donate to his gofundme page, as he is also in serious financial trouble.
  • Having a family that loves me, which is something my friend does not have. Some people are in really, really shitty situations.

  • The much needed long nap that I had today after a very long week with my Australian friend.
  • My sister's school concert I got to watch last night.
  • Getting to host my friend from Australia and have awesome fun with him and others over this past week.
