Masturbation is harmful to people in both physical and mental aspects. Psychologically, I will become impatient and irritable, lacking patience. My memory, willpower, attention, and thinking ability all decline comprehensively. Physically, it has caused me to have varicocele. The so-called "masturbation is harmless" theory is simply nonsense!!

You don’t get varicocele from masturbating.

All your posts have misleading information that simply ain’t true.

I will wait for your unhinged response

Knives are harmless if you know how to handle them. Drinking alcohol is harmless if you know your limit. Masturbation is harmless if you know to take breaks from it.
When people say "masturbation is harmful" they actually mean that they themselves aren't no longer able to keep their habit in check.
Knives are external tools, like scissors, screwdrivers and so on. You can use those in the bad or right way based on your choice. Alcohol, smoke and similar are external substances and are always bad, no matter the amount you take. Difference here is that small amount doesn't change you that much at all, but they're technically bad.
Masturbation is not a substance nor an external tool. It "comes" with you and the evolution of the mankind and animals as well. It's like saying that walking erect is harmful... All animals able to masturbate, masturbates to some extent. If it was so bad, the evolution would have removed that, exactly like chimps lost their tails 25 millions years ago and started to walk erect before evolving into men. Men and women have always practice masturbation without issues, the current problem is the link between masturbation and porn/porn addiction (which is a recent "creation"). If you remove porn/sexual images from the equation, nobody will masturbate 5 times per day... granted!

Mastubation addiction is harmful not mastubation

It is harmful to your overall quality of life, and shameful. Furthermore, anyone who says this lacks contextual understanding of overall effects of the hangover it causes and the benefits of not ejaculating. If you cannot stop masturbating then you have no self-control.

I don’t think you understood what he typed.
You basically re-affirmed what he said in your last sentence “if you cannot stop masturbating then you have no self control” is exactly what he was referring to.

ADDICTION to masturbating is harmful, not the act itself.

It’s like chocolate, chocolate isn’t good for you however it becomes harmful if one doesn’t have it in moderation (addiction). If someone has chocolate in moderation, then it isn’t harmful.

Also, when you say “not ejaculating” are you referring to semen retention? Because having sex and ejaculating isn’t harmful, or are you referring to the act of masturbation

There is no misunderstanding on my part.

Masturbation causes brain chemistry changes that diminish men's overall quality of life that is why it is harmful. Even once a week, which would not seem significant to the layperson is enough to cause significant changes, over time. Men who willingly engage in masturbation are plain ignorant of the effects, or are too weak willed to deal with a bit of discomfort.

Chocolate is harmful. The difference is you only start to notice it once you eat a lot of it.

With sex you are receiving the negative effects of ejaculation in return for love, companionship, fun, excitement, family, etc. With masturbation you are not getting anything in return.

This is here we disagree, there is not negative when it comes to ejaculating through sex. You can believe what you want, however there is no proof that ejaculating causes negative effects. I have sex 3-4 times a week, I have no negative effects.

Judging by your response, it is clear you believe in semen retention.

Brain chemistry isn’t changed through masturbation, it’s how you masturbate that changes brain chemistry. If you masturbate to porn, then yes that does change brain chemistry. If you can masturbate to nothing but the feel of your hand, then it doesn’t change brain chemistry.

I willl add I don’t watch porn or masturbate.

Androgen receptors decline, prolactin increases, dopamine receptors shrink, estrogen receptors increase, GABA releases. These are scientifically proven brain chemistry effects post-orgasm. You are merely not perceiving these effects because you are ejaculating so frequently that this depleted state is the norm for you.

Then you have 1000s of accounts of guys whose quality of life improves drastically after limiting ejaculation. They report changes that coincide with the effects of testosterone, and some of them post their bloodwork and that show their testosterone doubling. Again you would notice this for yourself.

You don't have the experience, knowledge or understanding to say that masturbation isn't harmful. That is all I am saying on this.

Ok so I’ll elaborate because you made a lot of claims about me that aren’t true. Rather than making these claims, ask.

Here we go.

I use compete in natural bodybuilding federations (don’t compete anymore but still train 6 days a week and have a bodybuilders physique), I’ve been training for 20 years. I know all there is about testosterone as it is the staple to bodybuilding, ejaculation doesn’t cause lower testosterone (I will get into this in a second)

I use to PMO however I no longer do, i also went 2 years between that time of no ejaculation and guess what? I still felt the same even when I wasn’t ejaculating vs ejaculating, why? Because science says so. Everything you mention hasn’t been scientifically proven, in fact there have been may sample studies trialed on individuals where they got them to perform semen retention vs ejaculation and the results have all come back the same, semen retention does nothing. I can link you many articles and trial sample studies performed on this. This is where the “doubled testosterone” comes from but it then drops back to base level in a few days, this has already been tested, trialed and proven.

Also, my testosterone is extremely high, soo high in fact doctors believed I was supplementing something to increase my production. I also checked to SHGB and albumin and not only is my testosterone extremely high, my bio available is also extremely high. Wonder how this is possible when I ejaculate soo frequently? I get my testosterone checked every year 2 times because of my bodybuilding. During the 2 years I didn’t ejaculate, my testosterone was exactly the same as when I was ejaculating.

This is also the same reason no bodybuilder performs semen retention, it doesn’t make any long lasting change to testosterone. There is a spike in the first few days but then it returns to base level.

That's all well and good.

For testosterone to be used it must be bound to an androgen receptor. We know from dissecting mice brains that androgen receptors drop after orgasm that is part of the sexual satiety mechanism that you are in denial about. That is alongside other changes that I have stated that occur that cause an effect of diminished drive, motivation, and energy.

We have not got a complete picture on the long-term benefits of abstinence. On this place and other forums there is a big database of information of the guys who are sexually abstaining, from which there is a general consistent pattern of reports of a testosterone-like enhancing effect over a period of months. It is very possible that androgen receptors in the long-term are affected by sexual abstinence.

But then again who cares. Time and time again I have experienced these effects, and so have 1000s of guys that you can find online. You are the outlier.

All this to basically say “let’s take the words of people posting on forums”.

Brother, this has already been trialed. There are multiple sample case studies performed where they had men perform SR and ejaculate. All have concluded that SR has no benefits compared to ejaculating.

There is no denial. Releasing semen does not decrease testosterone, and SR does not increase testosterone. There is no medical study that has proven this, and the people that have “doubled their testosterone” was a temporary spike that went back to base level after a few days.

Linking this to Diminished focus, drive and energy isn’t even on the table because non of these claims have been proven through medical science.

I am not the outlier, take a look at the world around you. Are you willing to tell me the most successful men in the world had lower focus, drive and motivation? Last I checked they don’t practice SR.

I will set you straight for the last time.

Testosterone in the blood does not matter. I don't care about testosterone in the blood. I don't care about measuring blood testosterone and ejaculation. These studies found that ejaculation had no effect on testosterone in the blood, okay.

I care about testosterone in the brain. There is no objective method of measuring the effects of abstinence in the brain with regards to testosterone. All the studies are on opening up rat brains. When I say that androgen receptors drop after orgasm it is a conclusion from a medical study on rats.

Your argument boils down to testosterone levels in the blood which are irrelevant and your opinion.

I’ll make this the last response to you.

All this doesn’t change the claims you are making regarding fatigue, less focus, less motivation and everything else you are trying to make.

All the best to you, but you go off a “feel” which is another way of saying “placebo”

There are a million things that works on rats but doesn't work on human, that's why medications have last trial step made on human. Lots of supplements "works" on rats or animals but doesn't work on human... So you're basing all of your statements on response from forums about semen retention, where all users are like a sept and spread misinformations like better aura, more women attractions, life force depletion and other fancy fake news.
Oh and by the way, I also found no difference between my day zero and my day after 6 months of semen retention. All of these effects are placebo and/or mental suggestion.

Thanks for this.

The moment he said “rats” is the exact reason I said “you are basing this on random peoples post”.

I find it hilarious he tells me I am uneducated enough to respond

I point out the following articles that may contribute to the discussion:

Masturbation might not be "natural" and not all humans do it.

3 weeks, maybe longer, of semen retention does decrease mental and physiological fatigue.

I personally do not believe that masturabtion is inhetently harmful but also that what already might be excessive is considered low frequeny in western countries. Maybe once every two months might be ok for all venefits, but at that point you might just stop all together.

I personally view the masturbation habit as sth. I am just not doing anymore. "Im just the guy who doesn’t do do it. I have better things to do." I let other people handle it, if nessecary.

Looking at your first link, they consider "hypersexual desire" the act of masturbating 7 times per week, for 6 consecutive months or more... this means masturbation on a daily basis, which also means lots of porn view associated with the act (including edging). That's clearly "over-masturbation" but we can't then say that masturbation is harmful. If we eat 5 hours/day and we get extremely fat, can we say that "food is harmful"? Of course not...
Masturbating on a daily basis with porn is a thing, masturbating (for example) once per week, without porn, is a completely different thing.
