The KEY mindset shift I recently made to help me quit PMO

  1. What's up guys?

I've been battling this addiction for over 10 years now. I've been making some impressive strides but still nothing too long. The best streak I've had was 133 days in 2020. Recently, I've done a 57-day streak but been relapsing quite a bit recently.

Every time I relapse, I tend to revamp my systems. One of the best things I've done was download Covenant Eyes and pay the $15 per month subscription fee but it's still not perfect although it works WONDERFULLY on android devices, not so much on Apple.

Anyways, the biggest shift has been to STOP BEATING MYSELF UP. PMO addiction is almost impossible to beat through: knowing that it's bad, reminding yourself the reasons and posting often on Nofap AKA willpower and knowledge. What people need to do is start really improving their environment and systems as well.

    Biggest recommendations:

    #1 Download PMO blocking software
#2 Read Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg - an excellent book by one of the guys who helped design Instagram - he helps you create amazing systems to destroy bad habits once and for all. Message me if you want more details on how I'm doing it, willing to help out a few guys.

My systems have been supremely flawed for years. I've always had a strong sense of personal responsibility which has been good but also TERRIBLE when it comes to change. See, people with high sense of personal responsibility have terrible self-criticism habits a lot of the time. The result is that we apply garbage systems for behavioral change and then beat ourselves up when it doesn't work. The solution for ppl like us is to really study Behavioral Design. One of the biggest shifts is that I stopped taking on too many challenges at once. I was trying to get too many things in order at the same time in my life and the result was always burn out. Now I have narrowed down my life to 3 micro habits that I'm trying to install and I will allow them to develop gently but surely over the foreseeable short term future and then build on top of them. In the past, I would routinely try to perfect too many aspects of my life at once which always caused immense overwhelm, beating my self up and then...PMO of course.
