  5. Another Nazgul rears its ugly head here in the midst of the Fellowship...

    Today was going really well, until suddenly it wasn't. I thought I would go far on this streak since it began so cleanly; for a full four days I had absolutely nothing in the way of peeking, fishing, edging, or any sort of stimulation. I stayed truly clean and it was amazing; I reflected just last night on how incredible and novel it felt to not have worried once about my sexual urges for a period of four whole days. It sounds like @newbobido and I made the same mistake; I was using my phone in the bathroom and I had the idea to challenge my porn blocker by seeing if it would catch something. It didn't catch that thing, but even after seeing that pornographic material for a few minutes, I didn't fall right away. I put it out of my head and went about my day, trying to distract myself with chores. When I gave in to MO about an hour later, the porn wasn't actually in my head anymore; instead I was fantasizing about a woman I used to know. That's probably worse, honestly. Going through an "extended fall" like this is pretty common for me: I'm good at interrupting the original lapse and getting myself back on track from that, but I put myself in an extremely heightened and triggered mindset, so that I always end up falling seriously later in the day.

    I have so many reasons to quit but none of them are strong enough to get me to do it. @LuckyMan You mentioned getting back to basics; I think that's what I need, even though I'm not sure I've ever advanced beyond the basics in the first place. What are you working on; do you have any tips?

    Day 36, yesterday i only studied. I didnt workout cause it was monday, and monday sucks (?, and because i went to the gym on Saturday.

    Today I will be working from home, please mention me in your prayers. I already had thought that I could watch some porn easily, but I am not lingering on these thoughts. I slept poorly tonight, my sore throat was not letting me. I wonder if the sore throat is from an infection or if it's related to my digestion, last time it was alergies.

    Already did all my routines (yesterday too - so it went rly good so far)

    Battles Won against PMO: 2 (right now the thougths came - "how would it be..if only short." NO dont let em!

    Routines Done (have started a "book" where I wrote/write it all down frequently - some kind of self mastery creative book):

    5min Meditation
    2min cold shower
    1min hand stand
    2 min self love
    2 min gratitude
    3min reasons and/to belief
    3min emotional self-talk


    (pretty much but its worth it -you dont need to do it very long - only need to do it daily!)

    Day 53 / 1000. Battles won against pmo: 13.

    +2 points. Yesterday when I started studying I got a bit frustrated and started having evil ideas to go to bedroom and pmo. But I didn't give in and after an hour they disappeared.

    Second point is because I was tempted before the sleep again. I used to masturbate myself to sleep in the past - it calms me. And even though I am fighting this for quite a while - I still have these urges to act stupid. I can't blame my body. I pmo'ed before sleep for, I don't know, 12-14 years. It will take time to heal. I have this intuition that it will take 3-7 years of hard mode (I hope it will be 3 :D). I am not naive. I saw a lot of people with addictions in my life - alcohol, smoking, pmo,... I noticed that mechanisms of healing are strikingly simmilar.

    I like this point system. Often I am quite broody and beating myself that I can't go even half a year without pmo and I forget how much I actually do and how much I progressed because of constant help from God, who gives me strength. In the past every battle was lost and now 13 won battles in a week or so. It gives me positive outlook that I didn't expect.

    Stuff that should help to not pmo:
    1. No internet for recreational purposes until 6 pm.
    2. Waking up on the same time every day.

    @Gallade_Templar it’s truly freaking me out a little bit every time it happens. A complete stranger on the internet writes down his experience and emotions and I 100% know how it feels. This doesn't even happen to me with people I’m close to in real life. I’m sorry you’ve fallen. But even 4 days is great if you’ve spent that time getting better.

    Unfortunately I feel completely hollow. My only win for today is that I still came here to write and be accountable to all of you. I binged like crazy and spent about 5 hours on porn this morning.

    no, wet dreams are beyond conscious control. so, that´s not your doing. you´re ok.

    in fact, wet dreams are pretty common in the reboot. just be aware of the chaser effect the next day, that´s the real danger.

    yeah so I’m no expert lol but my longest streaks came when I did these things:
    Good sleep routine. No electronics in the bedroom. Read a book before bed instead of being on the phone.

    Studying how to reboot by staying active on this forum and other threads like soaring eagle: rebooting is the best remedy. Watch nofap videos from Scandinavian Bob and pinnacle of man.

    Set small achievable goals and work on them. To build self-esteem and as a ready to go action to counteract urges.

    Meditation and journaling. And using a spreadsheet calendar to track when I relapse and when I stay clean.

    Self care, get enough rest, exercise, water, good food. And I am Catholic so praying with the Rosary.

    Observing urges and allowing myself to see where the thought originated, then redirecting it back to my goals.

    Now if I could follow my own advice that would be something :)
