One more day Fellowship. lot´s of downfalls today among us so i´m gonna lean on that subject instead of praising the upgraders. anyway, you know you are :) Congratulations!!! :)

so, i myself was close to collapse 3 nights ago, and seeing these wave of relapses among the Fellowship, makes me wonder: does the holidays put people off balance?

speaking of my experience, on the holidays i didn´t read my morning memos some days in a row, was a bit careless around the sweets department (reckessly boosting dopamine rushs in the brain), and i naively let myself fish for lust. only for mere luck i escape from a collapse.

if holidays cause people to relapse, then i think we should debate that here because holidays are an unavoidable part of life. please give me your thoughs.

In order to succeed in the long term you have to take the whole thing very seriously and value your awareness development process more than you value your everyday meals.Do you ever skip your meals through the day ?

It's not the holiday but seriousness of approach and alcohol consumption during holiday.

Look at why Jewish people are so smart :

'According to Jewish tradition, there is no forgiveness or atonement for the grave sin of 'wasting sperm'. Yet is it possible to fulfill this commandment in today's reality?
The way parents, rabbis, teachers, pedagogues and therapists within the Orthodox Hasidic Jewish Community educating their male children from infancy to adolescence, to avoid spilling their sperm. They target them to keep their seed only after marriage with a female for the purpose of fertilization. "Sacred Sperm" penetrates into one of the most suppressed hidden issues in the Orthodox Hasidic Jewish Community - a Taboo. Throughout the film we follow the emotional and theological struggle of the director who is trying to find a proper way as a father to explain his teenager son logically why he should keep this major Mitzvah (commandment) which perceived by many as unreasonable and seems impossible to fulfill.' extract from movie description

I know that holidays can be stressful for me. I ended up relapsing last night after 15.5 days clean from porn (though not from MO). I am back in my apartment and that is difficult because being home was a safe place free of stressors which my apartment sometimes has. I am going back to hard mode because while MO'ing without porn can prevent a relapse, at least for me, it ends up leading to a relapse eventually, and so at least for the time being, I am going to attempt to regulate my urges without turning to MO to relieve them. Now is the perfect time too, because I have about 4 weeks until classes start which means there is less stress over all, so when urges arise, I can fight them on my own without it distracting me from school work. I believe that I can make it four weeks on hard mode, and at that point, apparently the urges start to lessen as the withdrawal period is ending. With that said, as you point out @RiseToGreatness that the urges are still there from time to time, but hopefully they become easier. I am going to re-engage with this group to try to keep myself accountable on hard mode. Also, since I started keeping track of my relapses on October 11th, I have only had 12 (with two or three being day long binges). That means that I have an over 84% success rate, which is exciting.

A nature walk of a sort. I did this in my earliest days of recovery guided by a "spirit guide". In essence, and in retrospect, it is about becoming aware of what is already there. That is what comes out of this "walk" is the nurturing of the sense that lies dormant within us, already. We all have a deeper connection with nature. It most likely that we were brought up in a way that does not point to any connection with everything around us. We are taught to exploit.

If you have access to a spread of trees, ask someone to randomly choose a couple of trees and pull a leaf from each of them. They are to hand them to you and you are to find those trees associated with each leaf by matching the energies. (This is what came to mind, and just realized it was winter time, at least in the northern hemisphere). Do this until success, may take more than a day.

I think when it comes to holidays the possibility of the spirit of togetherness and happiness and connection is met with possibilities of equal stress and expectations. That is to say, we strive for it to be perfect in every way! In that reach for perfection we become stressed, perhaps angry. We may also feel like we are not getting the same amount of attention that other people are getting, not perfect. When that perfection isn't realized it can create inner turmoil and the way we taught ourselves to cope with the stress of life is with pornography, maybe even drugs and alcohol. Put alcohol and drugs into the mix, which I believe many families do, you are taking away your mental clarity, that clarity that you have worked on when sober (so that is a factor).

    1. So I believe one of the biggest things is the stress that families put on the function of getting together.
    2. The other is expectations. You can't help but expect things to happen smoothly and wonderfully.
I believe there are many other stresses that come about during this time, but I cannot see them all, nor can any one person.

I know, people don't want to see family get-to-togethers in this light. They want to focus on the good energy and all that. But the first world societies are not really keen on joy. They are keen on pleasure. What are we used to? Pasting ourselves in front of a screen doing all kinds of things while there. That is what we do everyday. You feel a sense of lost when you go away from that, like when you enter family functions.

This is what I believe may be some of the difficulties with holiday seasons.

I have done many of the things that are suggested in the challenge. I have been writing for awhile so I will just say that much.

    Day 1,

Thank you for this motivating clip! No matter what state of mind I might find myself in it is important to always give my 100%. The clip that you (@Gallade_Templar) shared is a great reminder that what you see limits your "perceived" abilities. When you look beyond the physical one realizes that one is capable of more than they think they are.

Coming face to face with the uncertainty around what news I may receive on Thursday gives me the opportunity to work with the unknown and what I perceive to be real. What I have been setting my intention on is to view this experience as an opportunity to learn about mortality and how in every moment you choose how to live your life. It is not so much the length of one's life, but rather, the moments that one is present in their life that matters (in my opinion). For all I know my changes in diet and living at a higher altitude could be fudging my white blood cell and platelet counts, but my mind still immediately goes to cancer (funny how it is the worst case scenario xD). The thinking is what causes the suffering, and this is a wonderful opportunity to work with being mindful in the moment. The uncertainty I feel has driven me to be more compulsive (shorter fuse from urge to acting out) but reflecting on this last year (low blood counts started ~1.5 years ago) I can see that after every set of lab results I have acted out (now it is just PM, no O). I can also see my progress. I also see myself here among all of you, and thank you again.

Here is to putting one foot infront of the other!
