    Day 34 in progress!
    Had a wet dream last night and it felt so realistic. It felt like I wasn't even dreaming, like I was awake. Everything happened really fast.
    Also had a wet dream a couple of days ago. I see this as a good sign though. It's a sign that my brain is rewiring.

    Unfortunately, someone send me an explicit picture today. It wasn't anything too crazy, but I just don't want anything of that in my life, especially not now! Fortunately, it didn't make me act out or do anything that I don't want to do, so I definitely do not see this as a relapse or a reset. I am rather proud that I acted the right way.
    I just wanted to share this with you so I could get it off my chest and to avoid relapsing in a couple hours or days.

    Keep strong everyone! The opportunities to PMO are just a couple clicks away, but you and I know that we are stronger than our urges and can keep clean if we really want to!

    sure bro, no problem. but from this day on, you got to tell when you reach a landmark in the map of Middle Earth, because without the respective counter, i can´t tell.

    your criteria are your own, but you didn´t P or M so, whatever they are, i´m sure they will benefit you :)

    Check in Fellowship :)

    Brain fog is hitting me hard on these last days, as it usually does on my first weeks of reboot.

    However today i didn´t do anything about it, and i found that the cloudiness that empairs mental functioning, can be delt with. i mean, there´s dizziness allright, but it´s not limitating of the regular behaviour. is the belief that i´m under performing that is very crippling. i can still function on some level, not the clever level, but on some level and that it´s perfectly ok.

    so that ideia "oh my God, i can´t feel like a mental retard", so what? we can´t have super days all the time and sometimes just allow ourselfs to be as we are, even if we feel retarded, is a huge relief from the constant struggle of "becoming something".

    today i had to do a hard task on my work and i was scared because of brain fog "man, i´m gonna look like a fool", but i went on anyway and i pull it through :). it was not "the best me", "the clever me", "the happy me", "the nice me", "the fast me", but it was "me as it was", and it was perfectably ok.

    our mind is very strong and it´s the belief that "i feel like shit and i can´t function properly", that causes true limitation and suffering. yes we can function!!! so fuck you brain fog, i´m not scared of you.

    Let´s welcome the new member of the Companion:

    @aeburbt

    The following brothers have upgraded and reach places in Middle Earth. Congratulations!!! ;)

    @rotten_tomato @Cartographer - Uruk-Hai
    @Swazzy 1 - Amon Sûl / Eriador

    A round of applause to our brother @BrotherHal for reaching a personal record in 3 years. Congratulations bro!!! The PMO ring is heavy but we will put it on it´s place ;)

    "4.2 The Annoying Alarm

    You know that feeling when a neighbour’s home alarm has been ringing all day – or some other minor persistent aggravation – then the noise suddenly stops and marvellous feelings of peace and tranquility wash over you? This isn’t really peace, but the ending of an aggravation. Before starting the next session our bodies are complete, but then we begin forcing our brains to pump dopamine and when we’re done and it begins to leave, we suffer withdrawal pangs. These aren’t physical pain, merely an empty feeling. We aren’t even aware it exists but it’s like a dripping tap inside our bodies.

    Our rational minds don’t understand it, but they don’t need to. All we know is that we want porn and when we masturbate the craving goes. However, the satisfaction is fleeting because in order to relieve the craving more porn is required. As soon as you orgasm, the craving starts again and the trap continues to hold you. A feedback loop, unless you break it!

    The porn trap is similar to wearing tight shoes just to obtain the pleasure of taking them off. There are three primary reasons why users can’t see it this way.

    1. From birth, we’ve been subjected to massive amounts of brainwashing telling us internet porn is simply another modern development that replaced the print version of porn. This fallacy is packaged with the truth that masturbation isn’t harmful, so why shouldn’t we believe them?

    2. Because physical dopamine withdrawal involves no actual pain, merely an empty insecure feeling inseparable from hunger and normal stress, this feeling manifests into a porn session as those are the very times we tend to seek internet porn. We tend to regard this feeling as normal.

    3. However, the primary reason users fail to see internet porn in it’s true light is due to it working back to front. It’s when you’re not consuming it that you suffer the empty feeling. Because the process of getting hooked is incredibly subtle and gradual in the early days, the empty feeling is regarded as normal and so isn’t blamed on the previous session. The moment the browser is fired up and you begin your session, you get an immediate boost and become less nervous or more relaxed, so internet porn gets the credit.
    This ’back to front’ reverse process makes all drugs difficult to kick. Imagine the state of panic of a heroin addict without any heroin; now picture the utter joy of when they can finally plunge a needle into their vein. Non-heroin addicts don’t suffer that panicked feeling.

    The heroin doesn’t relieve the feeling, it causes it. Similarly, non-users don’t suffer empty feelings of needing internet porn, or panic when they’re offline. Non-users can’t understand how users possibly obtain pleasure from two dimensional videos with muted sounds and abnormal body proportions. Eventually, users can’t understand either.

    We talk about internet porn being relaxing or satisfying, but how can you be satisfied unless you were dissatisfied in the first place? A non-user doesn’t suffer from this unsatisfied state, completely relaxed after a no-sex date, while the user isn’t until they’ve satisfied their ’little monster’."

    Checking in. Had to reset my counter, so I'm an Orc again. I'm proud of the progress I'd made in the last month with this group. I've been analyzing my relapse and will come back with more information later. Am running into a time crunch right now and want to give you guys well-worded reflection.

    Friday check-in

    This won't be detailed, as I'm on my way to the gym. So far I've only prayed a little and done some work for my job today.

    But I saw a cool video posted to this site about finding the underlying cause of one's PMO addiction, the wound or pain that you're medicating with PMO (or trying to. Obviously it's delusional to think porn makes you feel better).

    For the guy in the video, it was shame. For me, I think it's pain of feeling inadequate because of my lack of proficiency with women/relationships as a teenager and young man. With porn, I have the illusion of complete control with no fear of rejection.

    I think I might have started using porn (around age 18, I'm 34 now) to avoid the pain that came from my own perceived inadequacy, i.e. four years of high school with no GF. Stupid, but addiction is never really smart.

    I also noticed that when I was at my best with women, I only fell to porn once, maybe twice. After I got dumped, big relapse. It wasn't so much the deprivation of romance or sex, but being thrown back into those old fears of inadequacy, that insecurity from adolescence.

    I think this might be it, anyway, I'm not 100% sure.

    Anyway, time to hit the weights.

    The beginning of the year has been really hard for me, but i'm determined to continue to try until i make it.

    Day 2 finished!

  16. Hopefully I am not too late with this answer/ some one else has already offered this. Sounds like a great technique you are describing! I practiced some 'urge surfing' which is also really helpful (perhaps you know it already): just sit with the fantasy, don't fight it, but don't give it attention either. "Oh, I am having this and his fantasy. That's ok". Than continue with whatever you are doing. Good luck mate!

  17. Well said man! Couldn't agree more.
