yeah, that´s a common issue that every rebooter goes throught. the idea is not to starve the brain from dopamine, the idea is to replace porn dopamine with positive sources of dopamine. so do something exciting instead.

talk to the addicted part of yourself. say: "bro, i know you really want that porn, but that shit is super bad for us, so let´s do x,y,z instead, and it´s gonna be super awesome!! ;)".

and that´s it, talk to yourself like a friend, like a big brother. give your brain good replacements. that way both parts of your brain: the logic part (neocortex), and the reptilian part (where the addiction is installed), can be happy ;).

this makes all the different in the long term.

Finally bro :). give it all you got, that´s what it takes to break free from PMO addiction. And yeah, you´re still gonna relapse, even when being 100% commited to the reboot. but the thing is that now you´re gonna fall forward, you´re gonna learn and improve, and that makes all the difference.

that´s autopilot bro. it can happen easily if you´re not aware of triggers. you need to create a triggers prevention plan. see my tips (in the signature).

    i hope it helps :)

    Checking in Fellowship!! :)

Feeling good and happy :). Urges today are light, so i can keep going with my life undisturbed ;).

Some slips among the Companion today, but the spirit is good, so that´s what matters ;).

My AP yesterday told me something strikening. he said that one should consider itself to be a no fapper, or a retainer. that way the identity process itself will reinforce the commitment to no PMO, and slips and relapses become a "non event".

so consider this advice brothers, let´s us not just do this, to break free from an addiction, but also because it´s a lifestyle, a way of being, that gives much better life quality and benefits.

"i don´t smoke because it´s bad for me"

"i don´t fap because it´s bad for me"

Checking out!! Have a great day brave Warriors :emoji_muscle::emoji_muscle:

Continuing with "your brain on porn", page 58

"Here are some brain changes that show up in all addictions, whether substance or behavioural:

    (...)

    3. Hypofrontality, or reduced brain activity in the prefrontal regions, which weakens willpower
in the face of strong subconscious cravings. Alterations[108] in the prefrontal regions' grey
matter[109] and white matter[110] correlate with reduced impulse control[111] and the weakened
ability to foresee consequences.[112] A recent German review of brain and psychological studies
concluded that reduced brain function in internet addicts may be related to their loss of control over
    their internet use.[113]

Hypofrontality shows up as the feeling that two parts of your brain are engaged in a tug-of-war.
The sensitised addiction pathways are screaming ‘Yes!’ while your ‘higher brain’ is saying, ‘No, not
again!’ While the executive-control portions of your brain are in a weakened condition the addiction
    pathways usually win."

    Day 4 - Relapsed

So I found another way around my blockers. I've realised from this relapse that I should not be so reliant on my blockers as there will ALWAYS be a way to find porn. When I accidentally found this new way around the blockers I obviously had an immediately MASSIVE urge so I didn't have much time to react. I tried talking to myself, didn't work. I tried going down stairs for a little bit away from my computer, didn't work. I tried playing a game of League, didn't work. I tried meditating, didn't work. I was being too negative from the start, I was too focused on the things I couldn't do to distract myself instead of the things I could. And when I say "didn't work." that's what I thought at the time because they didn't work instantly, I stayed downstairs for like 1 minute, I played 1 game of league, I talked to myself for like 30 seconds etc. I didn't give myself a chance to even distract myself properly because I become unbelievably impatient when I have an urge so it feels like it's not working when I've only just started the distracting. I could've stayed downstairs for longer, played more games of league, I could've done the Microcosmic Orbit meditation again since so far that's worked really well, but for some reason I didn't even try it this time when I had the urge. I've also not been feeling great today from the start, I've been very achy all over and generally not feeling great physically so it's been affecting me mentally as well, so I naturally was at an even worse disadvantage than usual. Whenever I think I might have accidentally found a new way around my blockers the trick that I end up always falling for is "checking". "Make sure you can't get to the sites you wanna get to by looking them up and seeing what comes up. Once you realise nothing comes up the urge will go away. But if you don't check, that curiosity will keep causing massive urges."

I need to become much less reliant on the blockers than I currently am and just accept that I can access porn at any time even with all of the blockers in the world. This is also another case of just "keep distracting, even if it feels like it's not working".

    I'll do better.

  16. That’s a lot bridge, awesome music!

  17. Maybe a strong positive feedback would help. So when we have the chance to fight an urge off and make the right decision we could boost ourselves with - I don’t know, dancing around?, high-five with ourself in the mirror, tell the community, celebrate …
Exercise is also a way to boost the mood but if we do it with gritted teeth (reacting on urges) this might not work as well as when we pump up ourselves emotionally and enjoy it.
