"The Rookie" (2002, Hancock) and "October Sky" (1999, Johnston) are two good inspirational movies. They're also two of my favorites. "The Rookie" stars Dennis Quaid as a high school Chemistry teacher and baseball coach who realizes his dream of entering the big leagues. It's based on the true story of Jim Morris, who was a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1999-2000. And "October Sky" is based on Homer Hickam's memoir "Rocket Boys" about him and his friends who escape their poor, coal mining town in the 50s by building rockets.

Remember the Titans. Probably one of the best motivational and inspirational films of all times.

I agree with nopenotdoinit, remember the titans is an amazing film.
I would also suggest 7 pounds, wonderful film with Will Smith.

I haven't seen any of those movies. I'll definitely take a look. (October Sky was already in my "Movies to See" list. Now I have another other reason to watch it.)

    THE TRUMAN SHOW

    IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120382/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
    Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loTIzXAS7v4
About: An insurance salesman/adjuster discovers his entire life is actually a T.V. show.
Why: Because it's difficult to face reality and to leave your past life behind, but change's always possible.

    CLEAN AND SOBER

    IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094884/?ref_=nv_sr_1
    Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFiZf0q6OZg
About: A hustling drug addict checks himself into rehab to escape trouble with the law, and realizes that it's exactly what he needs.
Why: Because it's up to us to choose if we want to get out or if we want to continue being "in".

    LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR

WARNING: The movie contains many triggers and it's quite harsh. It's the opposite to the previous movie, as "Clean and Sober" is a journey from "IN" to "OUT", whereas "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" is a journey from "OUT" to "IN".

    IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076327/?ref_=nv_sr_1
    Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GYt6fLLYzk
About: A dedicated schoolteacher spends her nights cruising bars, looking for abusive men with whom she can engage in progressively violent sexual encounters.
Why: To all of those who don't consider that a sexual addiction is a serious addiction.

I thought that it was a good idea to resurrect an old thread of mine. Feel free to contribute, if you want to. :)

    BLACK MIRROR

WARNING: This TV-series contains triggers, so it's best to watch if you're advanced in your recovery, and you're no longer triggered by sexual references or brief pictures.
    IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2085059/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
    Trailer:
About: A television anthology series that shows the dark side of life and technology.
Why: Because it shows the negative impact that technology is having/could have in our lives, focused on how we relate with each other, what it means to have privacy and what are our core values as a society. It's SciFi and it's quite dark and extremely well written.
