Hi mate @Force Majeure! Sorry for not writing you in a long time even though I promised. It's again a sign of what happens when you start postponing something... There would be a lot of things to share, I guess. It would also be very useful to take part in this challenge again, as I've been regularly wasting time until the late night. But somehow I'm not willing to take the pure challenge each day at the moment. Good luck (solid resolve) for you!
4/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 2/14 - no alcohol 2/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 2/14 - some pull-ups 2/14 - no added sugar Just two minutes ago, my mind started playing tricks on me. It said to me something like "when the no-pmo challenge is done you could maybe play some pocket tennis!" It's always like this... a few days pass by and your unconscious mind is trying to take over control. Regardless of how harmless everything starts... it always ends with the equivalent of heavy heroine usage... so by slipping just 0.1%, that will eventually lead to a big fail. To be sure nothing happens, I will commit myself to take a three day no-pmo challenge, starting on Saturday. So when my 7-day challenge stops on Sunday, I can safely log in to NoFap and start a new challenge, without being "challengeless". Don't worry, I know how it is! The best thing to do is probably lowering the friction - let's keep the conversation here instead. Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking Anyway, nice to see you're still around! How's everything going? Regarding the evident situation that emerges sometimes, you start postponing something that, over time, you realise you're postponing it over and over again... that's indeed something that has to be solved. What if there was a challenge that dealt with just that?
5/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 3/14 - no alcohol 3/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 3/14 - some pull-ups 3/14 - no added sugar
6/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 4/14 - no alcohol 4/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 4/14 - some pull-ups 4/14 - no added sugar @stegiss how is everything going? Hope you’re doing good!
7/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 5/14 - no alcohol 5/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 5/14 - some pull-ups 5/14 - no added sugar
8/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 6/14 - no alcohol 6/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 6/14 - some pull-ups 6/14 - no added sugar ”some pull-ups” is really great for my muscle inflammation in my arm. I do a few pull ups and make sure it doesn’t hurt too much. Now it’s atarting to feel bettet and better and yesterday I could more than double the amount without any severe pain. From 5 to 12 Thank you! I’m looking forward to have some company
9/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 7/14 - no alcohol 7/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 7/14 - some pull-ups 7/14 - no added sugar Now this feels good, I forgot all training yesterday (because I was working) and realised it just when I was going to bed. What could I do? Work out, of course! Self-discipline is growing.
10/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 8/14 - no alcohol 8/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 8/14 - some pull-ups 8/14 - no added sugar I was quite tired yesterday and wasn’t looking forward to do the workout but then after it was done and I had had a cold shower, it felt so damn good. I also did a new personal best: 80 situps in a row. What was holding you back from perfection this time?
11/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 9/14 - no alcohol 9/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 9/14 - some pull-ups 9/14 - no added sugar Edit: I'm sensing a tiny amount of "slipperyness". Since I don't want to take any risk regardless of how small it is, I need to find a quickfix that will make my day easier. I will therefore do 50 squats every 30 minutes from 10:00 to 16:00, 600 squats in total.
12/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 10/14 - no alcohol 10/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 10/14 - some pull-ups 10/14 - no added sugar Doing the same exercises every day starts to feel pretty boring but at the same time, it has felt very good afterwards. Maybe it could be a good thing to replace the exercises when the challenge is completed. Will think about it. Edit: I have now reached the point where I usually fail in my no pmo challenges. This is the moment I want to embrace, this is where I want to be. I am going to show this addiction it doesn’t have a chance this time. I know I can do this. This time I’m going to show I will. @stegiss if you struggle with starting, how about shorten the length of the challenge to one day or three days or so?
It's high time for me to do this seriously. My rules are like this: I blocked the most common sites where I usually waste my time. It is not allowed to bypass these blocks anymore. Only when I want to reward myself (with a good movie for example). I use the forum only once a day Phone: use it for important purposes only and keep conversations short. That's enough. 3 simple rules, but quite difficult for me to adapt to. The most important is that I try everyday and report here everyday. See ya!
13/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 11/14 - no alcohol 11/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 11/14 - some pull-ups 11/14 - no added sugar
14/14 - no screens after 9:30 pm 12/14 - no alcohol 12/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 12/14 - some pull-ups 12/14 - no added sugar Screen challenge completed! Feeling pretty warmed up now, will go for another 30 days. 0/30
1/30 - no screens after 9:30 pm 13/14 - no alcohol 13/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 13/14 - some pull-ups 13/14 - no added sugar
Since last time I have bypassed my blockers/restrictions many times. But I think I'm already doing slightly better. I have also found good restrictions for my phone, by the way. I want to be more strict and mindful.
Very good! I should do this as well. Also I like QOUTE Not using internet for private use for <check> days (excluding nofap for now) UNQOUTE What exactly do you define "private" for yourself?
2/30 - no screens after 9:30 pm 14/14 - no alcohol 14/14 - 100 x (situps, push-ups, squats) 14/14 - some pull-ups 14/14 - no added sugar Finally completed all the other challenges! Now I can safely say doing the same kind of exercises everyday is really not my cup of tea
No it makes totally sense to me, because a challenge on an anonymous forum on the internet is not necessarily demanding ones full attention or dedication. It's like a game, it's fun to play, but one might easily forget it during the day to day life. Moreover there are no real consequences if one messes up.
In the last few days I thought a lot about what would help me. I need to do it! I don't want to focus only on porn anymore and put up some rules for less media and stuff. I need to shift my focus completely. Addiction is so much about time and attention! Make a shift, allow yourself to do everything differently. Focus on the things that are important right now in your life. Let go EVERYTHING else. You don't need to check the news, check the forum. No bad entertainment, no good entertainment. Stop looking for something. Don't get back to old movies, don't start to educate yourself online or switch to fine arts. The good thing is, that there's plenty to fill my time with. I don't need to be a zen monk and look onto a wall all day. This is not like a dry fast. There are just things that need my attention. I need to free myself and then I can simply shift my attention. Of course it will not always feel good. But I can do it! And I'll be back to report
