So I've been contacted by an admin that I can't use my own website in my signature, that is meant to do nothing but help others. If the creator of Nofap really cares about your recovery, he wouldn't mind sending other people to helpful places. All he seems to care about is the money and traffic on his own site, and not helping others. Like I said, if he wanted to help others he wouldn't mind.

I also have a popular youtube friend who had to get all of his videos deleted because the owner of nofap didn't like the way he used nofap in his video titles. This is sad. Welp, it looks like i'm better off some place else. Just wanted to help people. I was really looking forward to using this site, but it looks like it's not for me and I don't want to be here if it's not about helping people. Good luck.

ALSO, look at people like Gabe Deem and Gary Wilson. They link to each other and as many helpful things as possible. But the owner of this site tries to keep all the traffic here for himself, even if something could greatly help someone.

  2. I'd also like to see one of the videos if there's any way of posting it. Otherwise I wish you the best!

  3. I don't know if I agree that Alexander doesn't want to help.

I think they don't want people advertising on the forum, as they have had happen in the past with links to other sites in signatures.

That doesn't mean they don't want to help people. It's just forum policy.

Also there are A TON of NoFap videos on YouTube so I find it bizarre that your friend had an issue. Care to describe the videos at least?

    His videos?
If he really wanted to help he would do whatever he could to help people recover, and not have extremely helpful videos be taken down. Can I say his name or is that advertising??? I'll just say it THETRUTHofYOUTUBE ... He deleted his videos but it looks like he's reuploading them and not caring what he thinks. There's a video out there how he thinks the creator of Nofap is about greed too. Like who cares if he capitalizes the name of nofap... Like I said, if he wants to help, he would do anything. I see greed.

  5. Aren't you like an older member? So you know what you're saying isn't true. We don't like users who stir up trouble just for kicks. I kindly suggest that you delete thread. Next time I won't be kind and it won't be a suggestion.

That would be stupid to say something that was just false. What's false about what I said. What's the reason for my friend making super helpful youtube videos just to get deleted? and not letting people link to helpful places to aid recovery. To me it sounds like you're stirring up trouble and i'm telling the truth. I haven't seen you say anything to back your argument up. And no i'm not going to delete something that needs to be heard.

Look at the big picture... What's more important, helping people, or getting helpful resources deleted because the site owner isn't happy? It's his rules but it tells a lot about him.

  8. Hey brother don't take me wrong but i want you to understand the fact that nobody cares to the things you said.do you know why. Because people in nofap community lives each day from the hope they get from nofap .the hope they can overcome pmo.and no one here care what @alexander earns from this website or his traffic ( atleast me ) . all we care about is our addiction and how to break them.. so dont give negative thoughts about nofap to its members . You get nothing from it.And the friend you mentioned he made that youtube video just for earnings so don't say that Alexander is greedy and your friend was perfect thats all
    Moderators kindly delete this thread

i don't think you read a single thing I said. You say "all we care about is getting over our addiction" yes of course.. are you not reading what i'm saying. I think it's right to HELP vs be less helpful like the owner taking down helpful resources for recovery. This is not even close to rocket science ... Who cares what he earns? That's not the point, THE POINT IS that hes not about helping, but he cares about the brand more than the people. How do i know this? Because of the deleted videos and not letting me help people by linking them to a helpful site. It's fine to make money doing this, but to limit the needs to help people clearly shows you're more in it for the money.

  10. I read your thread and I replied what i felt.. since i saw you are the only one who complaint about it so I replied like that.

You mentioned in the original post that the reason the videos were asked to be taken down was because they used NoFap.

That's a violation of the agreements to use this site. At least in the US, owners of Intellectual Property are required to defend their ownership of it, otherwise they can have trouble in the future holding on to it. Also, by using the name can imply a relationship that doesn't exist.

Could it be he used some trademarked logo or something on his video? It depends, if you're trying to draw traffic from here to your content then it's probably against NoFap policy.

If you think it's helpful go to the NoFap Emergency tool and there's a submit button in there somewhere. You can put your resources and video links down in there.
I understand why linking your website could be taken down. You could also ask the mods to review the website and add it to the Reboot Tips Thread as well.

    Hello Evan,

You were asked to remove the link from your signature not because NoFap is trying to monopolize on traffic to this site but because, the NoFap forums being a large online community, it is our policy to restrict advertising and self-promotion, similar to any online forum or community of similar size. We are very clear about this in the forum rules and we do not make exceptions.

We restrict advertising and self-promotion to give users space to talk about the issues they are struggling with, and to connect with people who may be able to help them with their issues. If we allowed indiscriminate advertising, the forums would quickly devolve into marketing platform for anyone with a blog, vlog, website or other initiative to promote, and the quality of discussion would quickly deteriorate. So to maintain a high quality of discussion on the forums about the issues that are important in people's rebooting journeys, and to keep the forums a productive place conducive to quitting porn, we restrict advertising and self-promotion to prevent people from derailing the conversation. Thus, contrary to your suggestion, we restrict advertising and self-promotion because we are deeply interested in helping people quit porn. The NoFap forums wouldn't be half as effective as an accountability and recovery tool if we allowed advertising and self-promotion.

As to your charge that we are not interested in providing people helpful resources, we do link to YBOP, Gabe Deem and other sites in the porn recovery niche quite frequently. On this site, and on our social media. Additionally there are 1000s of links to these websites and others all over the forums. We do not ban links. We do not ban external websites. We do ban advertising and self-promotion. We have plenty of people who sign up just to spam their stuff everywhere. Creating this rule against advertising and self-promotion makes it easy to enforce. If somebody wants to share your website in a thread, they are welcome to, we just don't let people come on and post their own things everywhere. Self-promotion and advertising is banned on most websites similar to NoFap for reasons very similar to ours... it detracts from community, the quality of forum discussion, and distracts users from their goals and intentions.

So you would ban Gary Wilson if he signed up for an account here and linked to YBOP in his signature because he owns it? But if someone else links it it's fine? Makes sense. Not. And if you did allow it that would be against the policy.

If you agree that it makes sense, I'm not sure why you are still complaining.

That being said, at the end of the day, this is their site and they can run it how they like. If you disagree with their policies, you are probably better off starting your own site or working with a site that is willing to accommodate you.
