Learning About The Porn Industry Changed My NoFap Game!!-Post About It Here

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Jan 19, 2020.

  1. So, I recently visited an anti-porn website and was astonished at what I found. I have to admit, my knowledge of the inner-workings of online porn is ultimately slim-to-none, yet after weaving my way through some articles on www.fightthenewdrug.com, I feel at least a little more knowledgeable and disgusted by porn in a whole new way and in one way in particular...

Whether this need for more info was just a long time coming for me or it was the fact that I found myself one week into a porn binge, realizing that I needed to re-kindle some deep motivation quickly, I'm not sure. All I know is that light-bulbs started going off and things started clicking in my brain. Thoughts and theories I have been pondering for a long time were confirmed in real-life by real journalists. Puzzle pieces were connected together, knowledge gaps and yes, I would say even wisdom gaps were bridged. It's amazing what spending just a little bit of time to educate yourself can do.

However, I don't think I could of predicted the larger, profound effect reading these articles has been having on on me and my NoFap "game" as well. After reading less than ten articles on just this one website( it's easy to do once the juices start flowing), I'm pretty sure I won't ever be looking at porn the same way again. And all I can say, is good, I'm freakin' glad.

Although there was certainly no shortage of disgusting facts and figures presented in these articles, there was one in particular that really rubbed me wrong (bit of NoFap humor there). It certainly isn't the most appalling bit of factoid one might muster up about a inherently fowl-smelling industry such as the porn business, but it shines a surprisingly wide-reaching light into the character and integrity of the people "running the show" behind porn.

In fact, it shines a light on no-other than the single biggest company that has anything to do with pornography, MindGeek. MindGeek, as you probably DON'T know, is the single largest player in porn, they are the InstaGram, the Facebook of the industry, no doubt. MindGeek runs and operates some of the biggest names in online porn to date, including PornHub, YouPorn and PornTube among others. Yes, that's right, they own all three! So, it's safe to say that if anyone is making money in the online-porn business, it's MindGeek. After all, they wouldn't be doing it if they weren't making money. And when I say making money, I mean making money off of people's low self-esteem, addictions and impulse problems. And also, when I say making money, I mean millions & millions of dollars.

And yet, apparently, when MindGeek tries to earn the respect of the public as a conscientious, positive benefactor to society, it does so in a way that would make a boy scout troop gag. Brace yourself, because when you hear the startling sum of money that MindGeek recently donated to a charity to gain the good side of average, hard working Joes, you'll be astonished.

Now, before I tell you what the “nice” little sum of money the company MindGeek recently handed over to a “Save The Whales” public stint, you have to understand that MindGeek, as a company, made a profit (after costs of operation are deducted) of $22.98 million dollars in 2018. So, just keep that in mind. Now, are you ready to hear how much they gave to saving the whales? 1 penny for every 2,000 videos watched during a 22 day marathon on one of their sites, PornHub...1 penny... Do these people have no shame? Mathematically, for every 1 million people that participated in this 22 day event, MindGeek donated only $5. Now, it turns out that a tremendous amount of people watch videos on PornHub (go figure). If you add it up over 22 days, PornHub donated what any normal person would deem a nice chunk of change, $12,650 dollars. But then, you have to remember, that's with 2 and a 1/2 BILLION people participating...So, in reality, $12,000 is absolutely nothing!! Just think of the potential millions they shoved in their pockets from this "fundraiser"! And, after seeing how ridiculously laughable and sinister PornHub's ratio of participants-to-money donated was, we are left to wonder if any legitimate charity even saw the chump change PornHub shamelessly offered up by the end of their publicity stunt, at all.

Many small, mom & pop businesses that barely make enough money to pay their employees have probably donated more in the last year than giant-sized PornHub, YouPorn and PornTube combined! But of course, what else would you expect from a company that makes it’s money mainly off of pirated porn, rape tapes and all manners of disturbing footage? All the while doing little to nothing to filter out content that would make Ron Jeremy sick. But, why would they? Why would porn-sites like PornHub want to take-down legitimate videos of girls that were kidnapped and raped for months at a time? Videos that were later reported to be real rape scenes or real-life molestation incidents? Why would they do that when they are bringing in millions of views and thus millions of potential customers in front of their ads for paid subscriptions? After all, that’s how these guys make their millions!

To me, this kind of information paints a much clearer picture of the people behind the porn-sites that we are all visiting and it’s disgusting. This is just one more bit of information showing these people's true nature. There basically waving a banner, screaming "Hey! We abuse and use people!" But it doesn't matter because we're hooked, acting on our impulses and low self-esteem rather than thinking clearly. Do you really want to give your business to these snakes? People that shamelessly use current, trending and sensitive topics like saving wildlife to get people to watch more rape porn so that they can buy two Ferraris this year instead of one??

I urge you, reader, to visit the website www.fightthenewdrug.com , that’s where I initially learned of this information. Inform yourself about the porn industry and you’ll never look back. This education has personally helped me a lot so far to fight back against porn addiction and now I cannot look at porn the same way. This is a serious "tool" in my arsenal, porn is just different to me now.

This is one of the good articles I read.( https://fightthenewdrug.org/how-does-the-porn-industry-actually-make-money-today/). Spend a little time and read the other articles that the website recommends, it will give you a much more rounded picture. It can get a little repetitive because they re-use paragraphs but just skip over what you've already learned about, most articles contain good info that complements the other info. There are a lot of great articles on there that make it interesting and captivating to learn this information.

Last but not least, fight the good fight and never give up your NoFap goals! You are making the choice to change the world each and every time you fight against porn! Take back your life and always help others to do the same!

    Knowledge Is Power!!
