The search for intimacy

On day six of reboot and feeling strong urges. It occurred to me today and before (it’s probably obvious) that our real need is intimacy and that P and M are just attempts to satisfy those needs. I really want to hug and connect, emotionally, physically and spiritually. I think sometimes women don’t understand how much men need this type of connection (at least I do). A really great hug, some heartfelt sharing of feelings and just time close, holding and being. Of course that’s with my GF. But what about intimacy with workers and even strangers you come across? It is possible to make people laugh, to share something meaningful, to connect spiritually, through music. To listen and receive and to give something of real value.

I think I need to make that a goal and find fulfillment through loving and appropriate intimacy more often. Ultimately, P and even kinky sex with my loved one is a perversion of a beautiful, healthy connection and something that “short-circuits” a fulfilling exchange of energy and love.
