I should have seen this coming. Republicans throwing tantrums over Trump losing, just like democrats threw tantrums over Trump winning. You americans are a really proud and mature nation aren't you now? It's not like the world will end in four years just because you didn't get your way.

 

I meant people who favor republicans in general.

How well did nationalism work about eighty years ago?

 

Americans are weird. I spoke with one the other day, and you can't say anything negative about a Democrat without them using a Republican as a counter-example, even when you're talking about, for example, Killary.... Hillary Clinton as a human being. The fact that she's a broken sociopath has nothing to do with Trump, but you try telling that to a Yank. Such a strangely blinkered worldview.

Yeah, nationalism used to just mean not questioning your identity and loving (or patriotically hating) the place you lived, till the concept was subverted and forced ethnic diversification made it meaningless.

 

The American I was talking to sees Biden as a legitimate candidate for president. There was no sense of irony or nuance there. But, he's an expat, so he's probably just out of the loop. A special case, maybe. Definitely outmoded in his thinking, which is stuck in the 90's.

 

Biden's mind is a ticking time bomb, he could however make a good president of the bingo club at the retirement home.
