I have said on here that society has made women's breasts sexualized. But there is no biological sexual purpose to them.

Yes, men and some women like looking at women's breasts and all that comes with that. But that still doesn't change the point that there is no sexual function for them. That's all I've ever tried to say. Lots of people think they should be covered because they're sexual. They're not sexual because they serve no sexual function. Just because it gives a woman pleasure to get them sucked doesn't make them have a sexual function. That's like saying toes serve a sexual function because some women get off on having their toes sucked. Should toes always be covered and claimed "indecent"? See how silly that sounds when you put it like that?

I suppose all pride is passive... Ha, I don't know. I was trying to establish a hierarchy in my mind of prideful identities based on the emotional response I experience when I consider them, but I'll have to contemplate more. Am I more proud of being American than I am of my economic status? Am I more proud of social achievements than I am of ethnic heritage? I will think more about it.

Ah, but is it acknowledged and respected everywhere? Take Ginny's first post (I won't @ her because I will respect her request despite her insufferable attitude) as I have mentioned: she called the idea of straight pride "daft" when it came to a potential public demonstration. If heterosexuality is only superficially respected, until it is compared to an alternative sexual behavior, then it follows that the double standard some have for the different expressions of pride fosters a disrespect for openly proud heterosexuality -- such that when heterosexual pride is introduced even potentially, it is met with kneejerk dismissal by some people.

I still think you are correct in observing that oppression can be an appropriate distinction after the immediate fact, but consider that with every demonstration aimed toward "gay pride" you are creating a selective pressure against "straight pride," since you are only celebrating one sexuality at a time. Gays aren't satisfied because pride events make them equal to heterosexuals, let's be honest: they are distinguished as a group for a time, and upheld as a symbolic affirmation of future removals of perceived oppressions. That is putting them on a pedestal.

You would have to say no more pride parades are necessary, if you want to be fair. You would have to state that x number of pride parades we're necessary but now we no longer need them, since homosexuals are equal under the law. If you are going to argue about perceptions of equality, however, then straight pride parades are absolutely necessary since I, as a heterosexual, can perceive an unequal treatment of straight people in media and by average persons, such as Ginny.

You are disregarding sexual selection pressures. The sexual function of breasts can be enticement, erogenous stimulation or the enactment of sexually stimulating fantasy. These can be, both, on the side of men or women. Are you willing to say that despite women and men being sexually stimulated by intercourse, the purpose of either the penis or vagina is sexual reproduction and, therefore, neither biological organ is sexual? Because nothing biological is sexual, in that view.

I am claiming the opposite: sexual reproduction involves and affirms sexualization of human body parts and behaviors, real or fantastic, related to those body parts.

Thus, toes can absolutely be considered sexual. However, the claim of indecency is a moral one, not a scientific one, so to that point I would say the categorization of indecency should be dependent upon, firstly, the correlation between sexual assualt and the revealing of the body part in question; secondly, the social attitude of demographics represented by the relevant revealing of the body part. Since more women display their toes than do men, I am presuming, we can, firstly, establish if there is an equal correlation to sexual assualt or misconduct due to displayed female toes as there is to displayed female breasts; secondly, ask women if this correlation impresses upon them an urgency to declare displayed toes as indecent.

I think that is a fair way to go about the issue.

Many porn bots ran tumblr accounts and I remember having to block at least one or two a month after having my eyes bombarded with unwanted garbage when I would click their profiles.

The ban is great I think because there are a lot of young kids on that website and the filters don't always protect them from the more fetish oriented content that is frankly unsettling.

I don't really see how LGBT groups see their porn as artistic.
Non-pornographic LGBT content isn't being flagged down so I don't see the problem.

  6. Yess ma'am, tumblr porn bots are many and more frequent than just seeing them every month or so. You see them quite often. A lot of people block them but I'm betting most don't. I dont think they send you anything at all (like i.m's or messages) nor anything indecent..but their blogs are full of explicit stuff... They usually just add you out of nowhere, it doesn't matter what you do or don't post, they just add you and when you go to block them or confirm that they are porn bots your eyes start hurting from all the trash you accidentally see lol.
Tumblr may have and are banning (well lets use the correct term, which is: hiding. since it's what they're exactly doing) pornography posts from being seen, but the porn bots are still rampant and are not being banned nor are their porn stuff. Or if they are they sure aren't the primary targets haha.
Actually, most of them aren't even bots, the weird thing is they're real people. They're getting paid for this ish.
I saw a post or a few posts showing the person and "porn bot" having real conversations..and people discovering that they (or atleast some) are not bots at all..
The sad this is other people's originally posted content that they created being hidden as if it was porn, just because of a lot of porn "bots "commenting below their images over the years...

    Not suprising, I guess...;~;

Ok, the idea that these accounts are run by real people is startling and I am not sure if I should be relieved or not to be honest. I figured the porn ban was primarily to combat what I understood to be a bot problem but this is confusing.

  8. Yeah I thought it was pretty creepy to find out. But not tooo suprising.
I am not sure of what the primary reason was. If you ask me the primary reason that they banned everything considered pornographic images/videos/gifs is because there are some pedophiles on tumblr... And when it was publically made known that they're allowed a platform of any kind at all on there, Tumblr staff started freaking out.. and decided to remove (and continue to work on removing) everything that is considered explicit altogether.
