Wow! That must have been quite a conference, because your own story has many tough things in it. Sometimes, we can feel alone in what we have seen, what we have desired and what we have acted on. But you are not alone Sergio.

You have great courage! You are wise to tell only trusted friends and I am so pleased that they are mature and supported you. It does lift a heavy load to be very honest about what we have done. And to tell your family is also hard. I am sure they love you and are proud of you. I am confident that when you confess to them, they will love you and be more proud of you to know of what you have gone through and the positive changes you have made in the last few months. Day 68:

Finally, yesterday I told my mother about my pornography addiction problem. My mother is the closest person I have, and I live with her (my parents are divorced).

She felt a little bad at first, but then she accepted it as a matter of course. I would love to share my video here that I made a recording, but the audio is in Spanish and there are no subtitles. Thanks to a coach named Bru Capellà, he opened my eyes to tell this problem to people I trust.

At first I was afraid because I didn't know how he would react, and I didn't expect him to react well. Moreover, the day before yesterday, I told my three trusted friends about this problem. Just today, I went for a walk with my friend where I was talking to her about this problem. I find it a bit insulting from her, because she thinks that this is normal and that there is no dramatization. She also does her virtual job showing her body to people for a fee... I think it's very bad. I should stop being friends with her, but she also had her problems when she was my age. Anyway... to each his own.

She asked me what was making me do the sessions, and I explained it openly in the street surrounded by so many people. I didn't feel embarrassed, it was as natural as possible. I also said that I would rather not talk about it anymore.

Everyone else, fine. I feel liberated to be able to tell my mother about this problem, I think my mother is used to it. Unfortunately, I have two brothers of mine who are addicted to drugs, one of them is also addicted to alcohol. What a life! I told my mother that at least I am lucky not to end up like them, and that I realized and that I am in time to end this problem, porn addiction.

That's all for today, and I keep moving forward. There is nothing stopping me anymore, there are no more reasons to go back to the old life. I had that burden, and I'm free.

I am little dejected but my streak of meditation is broken. I have to focus on getting back on it.

I am also happy that though my meditation power had a slack I didn’t quit.

 

You had the courage to speak up I appreciate that.

Yes, it is liberating. The reason is that before we were living a double life. We carried a lot of guilt because of what we were into, but also because of the lies we told about where we were and what we were doing. We told those lies and hid the truth from the ones that loved us the most. My mother, too, is the closest person I have so I can relate to the dilemma of telling her something which is so shameful. My mum has been very supportive. Her only regret was that I was unable to tell her sooner.
