I write this having just had a series of relapses, after achieving 146 days P-free.

However despite being frustrated that I am once again resetting my counter, I don't feel as low, I don't feel the same high from P that I used to get, and I still feel hope despite this setback.

It's important to keep reaching out on this forum, keep finding ways to improve yourself, and most of keep talking to yourself in those time where you brain goes in addict/autopilot mode.

Things can change, little by little over time :)

  2. Wow thanks for sharing this bro - 146 days is almost 5 months -well done.

Love to know if you can share more about the way in which you relapsed? Did you have thoughts about relapsing for some time? How long were you intending to go for?

May be if you can share a list of the lessons you learned it can help yourself and us too :)

I find this advice how to address post relapse period useful:

    Deal with Setbacks Effectively
When you are struggling with setbacks, it helps to have a counterbalance of what to tell yourself instead of what you really think or want to say. The truth is you are better than this and you can overcome it, with the right mindset:

    • Take personal responsibility. Don’t cop out or blame others for situations. Admit where you messed up, own it, and move on.
    • Learn from the setback. It’s not a loss if you learned something. There are relapse prevention plans for a reason. Speak to someone who can help you learn some lessons and move forward.
    • Don’t look at yourself as a failure. Lapses and other failures are events and not indicative of who you are in totality. You are not your mistakes. Make adjustments, move on, and find the good parts of recovery.
    • Find clarity and hope rather than challenge. When you walk away from a setback having found clarity and hope, you learned something positive. You did not succumb to peer pressure and you made a habit of doing something better with yourself. You are doing the hard work of recovery, so keep moving forward.

Thanks man I appreciate the support and curiosity - I think the main thing was a number of external factors in my life not really going to plan - my health, my self image, money worries etc - all of those pile up and resulted in me losing some hope/hitting that point where you briefly stop consciously fighting the addiction.

I'm intending to keep going until I don't need P for arousal ;-) Good luck you're on a good, healthy number of days where you'll no doubt experience some positive changes :)

  5. Thank you bro - you are so right.

I remember myself after months of streak would hit a super low point where it felt like it is either suicide or PMO lol

In those low points, I find it really hard to give a shit about anything - you nailed it in the head! that's the main reason for many relapses - total hopelessness.

Either way you now have the energetic awareness of your capacity to go 5months+ and that will always be with you- look forward to seeing your progress and evolution.
