Hey guys im a new member in the community so hello to all of u i was just thinking that what if for the more hardcore p*rn users they decrease the stimulus every time they fap and then completely stop it as many of them are more avid users they can reduce the stimulus in this way
1)If u watch a p*rno of a too intense super hardcore category u can start by lowering it 2 a less hardcore version for eg from like a 4some or 5some u can decrease it 2 a one on one that is not 2 hardcore
2 after the first step u can switch 2 magazines instead of videos magazines like penthouse hustler etc
3 then the last step try 2 watch playboy and appreciate the human body more than the sexual aspects like the private parts as playboy is a magazine having nude models in various poses without exposing their lower body much
4 finally after all this u can avoid fapping
Note:there should be a gap of 2 weeks between each step and not consecutively and try 2 talk 2 girls normally after the second step as it would help u overcome the perverted thoughts and would help u think about them more positively.
It has worked for me personally but the thing was i didnt watch much hardcore stuff just one on one vids without any weird stuff it kind of worked with me cause personally i think that if we lower the intensity bit by bit our brain will adapt 2 it and finally would lower the intensity of our urges 2 watching a softcore playboy magazine instead of watching super hardcore stuff hence helping u and ur body to develop actual emotions for a girl instead of thinking bout them when u r sexually aroused

I tried to use less before I quit entirely. It didn't work. It's best to quit porn cold turkey.

  3. Sorry buddy, it doesn't work like that. You either stop or you don't. What you described is like an alcoholic saying they will just drink wine instead of whisky and then after that they will just drink beer. heard it all before, being an ex porn user and ex drug addict there isn't many excuses i haven't heard of or tried myself.

Maybe jst maybe the method is worked fr me bcuz i was never an avid p*rn user nd never increased the intensity of the content 2 much and always stayed with more normal p*rn with less usage like 1 vid a month,I didnt crave it too much ,infact i started again after a 1 1/2 years like recently around october 2017, even also maintaining my 1 month rule, besides i have suddenly become more sexually aware

I agree with original post to an extent but maybe switch direct from video to magazine - playboys super softcore like you said, from there like maxim. The time gaps seem excessive - 2 weeks in between each equals another month of pmo. Ive gotten to the point where ive watched so much hardcore that it is boring to me but softcore\kissing\lingerie is hot, so perhaps no (pictures\vids) would be better for some

Ya that too if u cant reduce the intensity because of excessive amount of p*rn use u first have to stop watching for some time like 2 weeks nd when u have those urges to the point tht u want to relapse instead of relapsing to a hardcore P*rn vid u can try to switch to less intensive P*rn as at tht point ur brain jst wants anything to fap 2 so u would be feeding it with less intensive vids/magazines like hustlers, penthouse etc.then try to have a gap in between unless another urge comes up to the point u cant resist nd have to relapse.try fapping to playboy instead of relapsing to complete hardcore p*rnThis in my opinion would help in conditioning ur brain to something u should actually get an erection 2 like a hot chick this is actually what would happen to a normal guy who has never watched p*rn and would get sexually aroused around good looking girls

If u see in playboy instead of concentrating on the girls jugs or the vaginal area u can take a look at their face they dont seem to look like they r being forced to be shot nude they have their emotions on their face unlike in a porno movie where the cam is always shooting the private parts and never the face as the face would always have a different emotion like they r forced to smile 2 moan nd stuff ,P*rn is actually prostitution that is given a name,nd every p*rnstar has some kind of a past where they had been sexually abused ofcourse some of them do it for the money but isnt it better to look at a playboy where the girls actually like what they are doing instead of being forced nd magazines contain a still picture whereas p*rnography is a video nd a still pictures showing a nude women is better than a video showing sex

  9. Yeah we’ve all made this justification to ourselves.. Stopping completely is the only way.

Even researchers say that masturbation is good for u until u keep it in control if u are actually substituting masturbation with other activities u have a problem basically masturbation is a tool to discover your body and sexuality it is the practice and having actual sensual positive sex with a person is the main thing

  13. I think a lot of us are farmiliar with the great porn experiment tedx talk by Gary Wilson. I've read his book too called 'your brain on porn' and countless other books related to the subject and academic papers regarding internet porn use. I think the main problem isn't masturbation, it's how you go about it and how you respect it. The point Gary Wilson is trying to make with his research is that online porn has a desensitisation effect on the brain leading to a need for more extreme content. Research shows that heavy users of porn have limited activity in the pre frontal cortex of the brain, this is the region responsible for complex decision making, like comparing, reasoning, and judgement. The brain also goes through a shrinking process and dopamine receptors in the brain start to die out as is found with drug users, in order to get the same level of exitement one has to seek out harder and more extreme content. For people who have trod this path there is only abstinence as a way of getting back full control to allow the brain to heal.

We have neuro plasticity meaning that the brain prunes back un used neural networks and makes them dormant in order for other more useful ones to become more active again. This is why abstinence works because you no longer use these networks as a 'go to' reward instead, people recovering from porn addiction have to find other outlets like hobbies, exercise, etc to rewire the reward path in the brain. Dr Patrick Carnes who wrote the book 'In the Shadows of the Net' who has studied human sexual behaviour for nearly 40 years states in his experience it takes people suffering from psychosexual problems about 5 years to fully recover, and to start with it takes 90 days of complete absitnence for the brain to stop obsessing and seething with desire.

You are right man thats that and in the other ted talk about the masturbation myth the sex therapist even told tht masturbation is given names such as self abuse in the society its not bad it is human nature to discover ur own body and ur own sexuality she even told that masturbation can happen from any age even infancy . She told that masturbation is infact positive as it alleviates stress nd headaches etc but too much masturbation is bad as it is hampering ur day to day life she evn told that the stimuli that u use can also have a negative effect on ur sexual prowess so inshort masturbation is good for us in a controlled manner and not something 2 get obsessed over
