    Hello Fapstronauts,

I just wanted to throw this out there to give a set of realistic expectations for your recovery. There is no "get rich quick" approach to this. Just with any other illness or ailment of your body, it will take time for your body to heal itself. The amount of time it takes to recovery really depends on these variables:
    • How strict you are about abstaining from all sexual forms of arousal during your recovery period
    • How early you started PMO (7th grade for me)
    • How frequently you indulged in your addiction while you had it (1-3 times a day for me)
    • How long you continued to PMO (almost 10 years here)
    • How bad you actually want to feel better
Yes, 10 days is AMAZING. But 100 days better. After 90 days you will feel great. After 900 days you will feel immortal. "Soft mode" is fantsatic. "Hard mode" delivers results. Cutting PMO down to once a week/ month is a great start. Cutting out PMO and MO for 6 months: now were talking.

Getting into this marathon mentality I believe is essential for long term recovery. Short term goals are CRITICAL. But these long term goals are where the gains are made.

    Just throwing this out there.

Thank you for this post !!!

I’ve been sat here re-reading it a few times and reflecting on your words and also thinking “where am I in my own personal fight with PMO” and “what approach am I taking???”

I really like the term marathon mentality .... I’ve been fighting PMO a long time , over 7 years really and has been part of my life for over 15 years..

I have gone a few months with absolutely no PMO then I slowly creep back into my life maybe once a month or weeks and I don’t think I took the action I should have.

Only became aware of the NoFap middle of last year and joined this web site towards the end of 2016…. Since joining I’ve got to the 22 days but at the moment I’ve been stuck getting to DAY 7 and relapsing. But Im determined to get up and keep moving forward and learning each time…

I need to start having that marathon mentality as you say…. I want to get to the length of time you are at no PMO , I find that truly inspirational !!!

Thank you for posting your thoughts and I would truly appreciate and advice/words you can give me …..
