Honestly i just came across this site a couple days ago. I didn’t even know this was a thing until then. I am posting here because i am curious as to what people think about where i am on it. See, i already have been kind of living the NoFap lifestyle before i stumbled upon this site, but for different reasons. I am a very sex positive gay male into the kink/fetish lifestyle. You see i have a fairly uncommon kink interest that is all about me being locked in a chastity device for long periods of time and obstaining from touching myself for pleasure. Hell, because of the device i dont even touch it to urinate. I, for the most part, obstain from watching porn as well, as there is no real point to it if i am unable to even get aroused. I do however have sex occasionally as i think the act of sex is a healthy natural thing, and fun. I am wondering what peoples opinions are on whether or not this is considered nofap or just a kink interest? Are chastity belts a taboo in nofap? I have in the past also gone without masturbating for 45 days without chastity. I am curious to hear from others as i dont totally understand the whole nofap lifestyle yet and where i am on it as i am clearly new to it.

  2. Kink interest 100%. You said it's a kinky thing, that presumably, turns you on. It's also common in pornography.

Nofap is about wanting to get away from pornography and similar activities. So the chastity cage arouses you and your doing the compete opposite of nofap. It's not much about no masturbation or semen retention. It's about clearing (freeing) your mind from porn.

Ps. You should put trigger warning and it's in the wrong section. It's cool though!

@wethebest thanks for the response, i will try to find the correct spot for it. I still am trying to refrain from porn as well, but i guess its for a different reason. But i am kind of confused. Am i not technically into a nofap lifestyle? In being chaste i am clearing myself from porn masturbation and orgasm. Do Fapstronauts not engage in sexual activity of any kind?

  4. The question is do you lock your chastity thing to stop yourself from watching porn or indulging, or do you do as a kinky type arousal thing? The latter would be my guess based on the entire post.

Some people here do sexual activity, some dont, some cannot. It depends on the person

  5. Depends on the person, nofap is primarily used as a tool to quit porn and others stop masturbation as well because it hinders their progress. It's down to personal preference really but the goal is to get rid of porn.

  6. Interesting - I kind of viewed this platform as being primarily about not masturbating - isn't that what fapping is? Or is fapping specifically referring to masturbating to porn?
Either way, I guess for many of us, the two go together as porn almost always leads to masturbation and orgasm and masturbation often leads back to porn.
My recovery has been questionable at times as not masturbating leads to arousal and increased sensitivity which can flood my brain with dopamine and leave me wondering if I am on the right track.
But not looking at porn? Nothing dubious about that. Of course it still tempts me sometimes, but wow, it feels really good and really clean to be going through life not looking at porn.

  7. Thank you for the post. I'm not sure if chastity devices are a taboo but there are certain terms, at least one certain style of women's shoes, that gets blocked if you try to write about it, so I guess the chastity device isn't that taboo.
I think I know where you are coming from. I have used these devices as a fetish. I have also used them as a last ditch desperate attempt to get through exceptionally difficult times in my attempts to not masturbate. I think what matters most is - what is your intent for wearing the device? If it's because it turns you on, then probably not in line with what most people are trying to do with NoFap.

If you are looking to stop living a life of porn and masturbation, of fantasy and addiction, then this is definitely there right place to be. You wrote that you went 45 days once without masturbation and without the device. How was that for you? Surely you must have experienced some benefits from doing that.

In my experience, chastity sounds exciting until the device is on. Then it's just inconvenient and uncomfortable. But it takes masturbation and self pleasuring out of the equation. It can be almost calming. I can focus on other things. That is part of what I get from NoFap. All the time and energy that I used to relinquish to porn and masturbation, I now can apply to other aspects of my life. As an addict, my life was all about sex and arousal. But deep down I knew that I was missing out and the rest of my life wasn't working as well as I wanted. With noFap I find myself functioning better and my sexuality feels more normal, and more healthy.

  8. Well this is primarily a porn recovery forum, so the goal is to stop looking and masturbating to porn. You don't necessarily have to stop masturbation but it can also can hinder recovery, by making it take longer and potentially make you relapse.

Some do some don't so it really comes down to preference, because if you're also a chronic masturbator you should probably quit for a while and let your brain reboot before going back to a healthier amount.
