One of the rules for life that Jordan Peterson states is to tidy your room. I took this advice rather superficially making it a priority to simply clean and organise things. My TV set in my room recently broke, pissed off, I was looking at fixing it / having it repaired / selling it as faulty to no success. I removed the TV from my room including my PlayStation then before you know it I thought what's the point in storing DVDs, games, cables and even the unit all my media stuff is kept in. My room looks rather empty now. I keep my laptop plugged in the living room and I'm spending more time interacting with my parents than ever. Limiting use on my phone is the next step even though I've never searched for porn on there, but already I've found the benefits of not having a TV in my bedroom, I'm interacting with family members more and refraining from PMO unconsciously because my bedroom is pretty much empty and my laptop is kept downstairs. This is the longest I've gone without PMO even though it's only been weeks, I'm feeling a general sense of improvement, my sleep has improved so I feel more refreshed for the next morning. I would recommend to anyone to just get rid of your TV in your room or have no TV at all.

Maybe try something new? Try to store some books in your room. Or maybe some instrument, of you are playing them. Personally, I fill my room up with those. My sleep is almost always fine, zo I can't speak of any improvements in my sleep pattern. Hope this will help you!

I suffer from depression and lack of motivation and relasping only keeps me in this cycle. Some days I'm motivated other days I'm not. I have an electric guitar, and I also write and draw. But some days it can be extremely hard to work on music, the comic im writing, and drawings. And so as long as i keep relasping I will never reach the skill level I desire which ruins my motivation even more.

I have a 50 inch tv mounted to the wall in my room... it usually only gets used to watch cartoons in the morning on the weekends when I get to sleep in. Not gonna give that up.

I think the perfect solution for you is holding a journal. Take a few minutes before you go to bed, and write down what you felt and/or did that day. That way you can see yourself develop over time. You can do it! I'm playing acoustic, and guitar gives me a new perspective of life.

I have an acoustic and a les paul in my room and I play them in the space where the TV used to be. I get what you mean about the motivation thing though, it happens to me quite frequently. Just in general I have a tendency to start something in excitement then down the line I lose motivation and get disheartened learning and playing guitar when I see all the talent on Youtube and I think it will take me ages learning to play to that level. But at least it's better than watching TV and playing video games, I'd rather be old and playing guitar than be old and still playing video games and watching mind numbing TV

If you can transmute your sexual energy into your guitar playing you can get good in 1-2 years depending on how much you practice. One of my previous coworkers dropped out of school and solely focused on playing his guitar for around 8 hours a day. He quit videogames and other distractions and got good in 1 and a half years, like advanced level good. Nofap literally improves your cognitive functions and when you put that energy into activities things people take years to get good at you can get good at very quickly.

Sounds promising. Just the idea of improving cognitive function appeals me. I've spent the last 15 years addicted to PMO and probably only just realised over the last two years I suffer with issues such as brain fog, indecisiveness and social awkwardness. I don't want to look a girl the eye and get flashbacks from escalated porn use and lose the ability to hold a conversation. I'll continue to play guitar hopefully more regularly even if I don't improve my playing I simply want to improve cognitive function.

I swear by this method because it works indeed and ever since I got rid of the TV in my room, I've changed a lot. Moreover, I found very minimalistic bedroom furniture on http://nyfurnitureoutlets.com/ and completely rearranged my room. I know this sounds too radical, but believe me, I feel totally different now. No TV, no clutter, no stress. I still have the TV downstairs, but barely ever use it, so that's a detox from technology as well. Also, moved my office table in the guestroom, so now I do the work stuff there. Compared to how I felt before, now I see major changes, and all for the better.
