    Hi guys
Today is one of the greatest days for PMO addicts.
Time Magazine cover article is about Porn addiction and @alexander , the founder of NoFap and NoFap Academy is one of the guys giving testimony about PMO ( including his picture) , also Gabe Deem ( aka @JaYBrieL ) who is a long time PMO rebooter and has published great and funny videos about rebooting and created his own website, Reboot Nation.
    I am ecstatic !
It is so hard to speak out about our addiction, I have explained to some of my friends and they cannot understand why I feel that PMO is bad, they still believe it is a " guys thing".
We all feel embarrassed to speak in public about our addiction, a most of us prefer to keep it private, some times even from our spouses. This article may make our "coming out" easier (You know, for the regular crowd if it is national media, it DOES exist; otherwise it does not)
I encourage everybody to read it and spread it around so much more people becomes aware that this is a shitty addiction and can ruin your lives as it has done with most of us. It get much easier to forward the article with a comment: "See? This is what I have been talking about? It is afflicting so many people around the world, not just me"
Parents need to become aware so they avoid their kids becoming addicted to porn from their early years, which makes it much harder for recovery.
I applaud Time Magazine for having the courage to put this hidden addiction in the spotlight, and once again I cheer @alexander for everything he has done for us

Hi @ScruffyDog , Welcome to Nofap!
I am so glad that you read this article and this helped you realized you are a PMO addict.
We need to spread the word about this addiction because too many people is suffering as we were, without knowing why we were immersed in deep shit.
Let me know if you need some help to start your reboot, the first few weeks are really the hardest, you may experience some withdrawal symptoms such as blue balls, anxiousness, suden changes in your mood, etc.
I wish you all the best,

You need to have hope and faith on your potential to overcome this addiction @ScruffyDog
I was PMO addict for 40 years and it was very painful to get out of the hole where I was.
Have a plan ready for the moment the urges appear, in that moment you cannot think clear

Also @ScruffyDog I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.
I can share this post with you with my own Emergency Toolbox, it helped me a lot during the first few months, i had them in my cell and read them every time I started falling down:

    http://www.NoFap.com/forum/index.ph...t-during-my-first-100-days.45178/#post-309287

I wrote some tips in this post that perhaps will help you too:

You can watch some interesting videos which are also very helpful in this post:

I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.

Last but not least, I would strongly recommend you to take the NoFap Academy course if you can afford it. The course is great but the best value are the weekly video calls with @alexander (the creator of NoFap and NoFap Academy) and Mark Queppet, where you can chat with them in real life and listen to other guys's stories and problems too.

I hope that all this helps you to fight this shitty addiction.

Breaking the Cycle is a great book @ScruffyDog , I am sure it will help you to gain some techniques that you can use during emergencies.
You need to be very well prepared to face those urges, plan in advance what to do to turn the focus to something else. The worst thing is to stay obsessed by the urges and think just on how much you want to fap, how miserable you feel, etc.
Find some positive activity that makes you happy, or something that requires a lot of attention. This will help you " break the cycle"

Like @ScruffyDog, I am here because of the Time magazine article. it was perfectly timed for me, because I had been again feeling that pull/drive/conviction to kick this PMO habit. I'm tired of wasting my time and energy on such a selfish and empty pursuit. Very glad to be a part of this community!

    Welcome to NoFap @FPDoc
I am glad that you leaned about this site through Time Magazine article. It is important that this addiction goes public, because many of us have lived decades with PMO addiction not even knowing that this is an addiction.
Use all the resources you can from here, do a lot of research and be very well prepare to resist the urges. It will not be easy but it is possible to do it. I will be 11 month clean in 3 days, after 40 years of addiction, so i can prove you that you can do it if you have a strong will power
    Good luck

Wow, that's incredible! I'm not sure if I've ever heard of that magazine, but if we have at least two people coming here from it, it's successful already! [IMG]

Thank you very much for your words @ScruffyDog , every support of a fellow Fapstronaut helps a lot.
I cannot believe it neither, to be honest. I have been always very sceptical of this self development groups, but NoFap is amazing. I could have never get here with all the support from this forums, plus the tools I got in NoFap Academy.
The big advantage after so many months is that relapse is not an option: I would hate coming back to this site to tell everybody that I failed, Just the idea of being depressed and feeling a loser is the main force that drives my rehab. Not even the "pleasure" that M gives would be able to offset that pain.
    Keep on fighting

    Hi @Dizzy Lotus
Time Magazine is one of the most important weekly magazines in the country, and one of the oldest and with better reputation.
It is for magazines what New York Times is for newspapers.
They have also three international versions that goes to Asia, Europe and Latin America.
This means that a lot of people around the world will learn about our addiction through this media
