Is anyone else noticing any addictions to Tinder or similar apps? The attention you can get from multiple women on these can be quite addictive, particularly when I've been trying to quit porn and masturbation. Anyone else noticing this?

I would definitely agree. But I took measures and recently deleted my Instagram, Facebook, and Tinder/ OK cupid account. what a weight lifted off my shoulders... shit. But yes at times I miss the amusement from it. I am better off w out it tho.

I got Tinder last week, same time I signed up here by coincidence. I had the same thought and I'm still worrying a little, I might end up using Tinder in a similar way I used porn (quick fix for visuals of girls with a big variety). My initial idea was to use Tinder to meet girls though, so if that works out - cool. But if not, I'll delete it. I'm not down for virtual ego boosts.

They're great if you're legitimately using them to meet people. They can be very harmful if you're using them to replace porn. If you notice you're getting a dopamine high from them, you should delete them until further into your reboot.
I guess just be careful and only use them for the intended purpose: meeting women.

Sidenote: I met the girl I'm currently sleeping with on okcupid. It is possible; just takes persistence and the right attitude.

Haha thanks for the motivation! So far I haven't gotten a lot of feedback on Tinder but I'm blaming that on me being extremely picky with my "likes". Or maybe I'm just weird looking, I don't know ;)

That was definitely my downfall before joining this community, when I was trying to quit PMO all on my own. It felt good to be off porn for a while, but I was still getting that dopamine rush from tinder. I am abstaining from the online and mobile dating communities until I get my perspective realigned with how I approach things with women. I don't want to objectify them anymore.

Seeing a lady's outer beauty as the only quality that matters is not healthy. As I reboot, I'm trying to focus on their inner beauty. Hopefully this will get easier as time goes on.

It's crazy how our brains will search for a new way to get that dopamine hit when we remove porn.

I've now had to delete tinder and other dating sites, unfollow many girls on instagram, stop surfing facebook, blocked girls who I have sexted with before... the hardest part though is trying to stop looking and fantasizing when seeing a provoking image unintentionally.

I look forward to when this isn't such a struggle.

    Must... build... willpower!!
    Must... strengthen... self control!!!
