Tips for overcoming PIED (it helped me A LOT)

    Hello all,

    Let me start off with acknowledging the feeling we all share; PIED is a scary m*therf*cker. I have been there, I still am, FOR NOW. Last 3 times I had sex I had trouble getting it up, and keeping it up. This was my wake-up call. Why am I so confident? Well, let me tell you that I have made impressive improvements being only on day 26 or 27 now. I will share my story and my ways. DO NOTE THAT THIS WORKED FOR ME, AND MIGHT WORK DIFFERENTLY ON YOU. ALSO NOTE THAT MOST OF MY HABITS HAVE BEEN AT MY SIDE FOR YEARS.

    So, let's list my most effective tools that helped me from the get-go.

    #1: Cardio-vascular exercise. Oh boy, here we go again. You must have read before countless times that exercising (cardio-vascularly though) does so much good for PIED, NoFap and life in general. It is said it is the greatest cure for most illnesses. And this is true. There are so many ways exercising helps you out, I will need only 500 words to describe them all. Just start f*cking exercising and thank us later. Please.

    #2: Releasing stress and avoiding stress. This one is very important. Stress is toxic for mind and body. You can not effectively re-wire if you are stressed or self-conscious all the frickin time. Learn to let go, and you mind and spirit will the chance to calm down and re-wire. Tips for releasing stress --> Do yoga. I love doing yoga since it distracts me a lot, it gets me in a social environment and it de-stresses my entire body.

    #3: Challenging your brain. You NEED to learn and challenge yourself to actually make neuro-genisis happen. Re-wiring will happen at it's most effective way when all your brainpower is directed at new tasks, challenges and works that make it impossible to even think about the PMO process. This way, your pathways to porn will weaken much sooner since it is not being used anymore and will rust. Your brain identifies this as a 'worn out' pathway and will weaken this addicted pathway. My tips are learning a new language, doing mind games, playing creative games, socializing and reading.

    #4: Ginseng extract. I am no expert on nutrition, but I have read and seen that Chinese/Korean Ginseng Extract is really great for your brain and vascular system. And to be honest, I feel like it helped me out a lot as well. I mean, my crazy results didn't come from nowhere.

    #5: Sleep 8 hours a day at a minimum. Sleep is very important for neuro-genisis and relaxing mind and body. This should come as no surprise...

    #6: Cold showers. Boy did cold showers make me a rock. I remember my first time jumping in a cold shower. My nervous system was shocked and i was panicking. But now, my nervous system doesn't even flinch. And this reflects in daily life as well. I don't feel nervous around girls anymore and I do whatever the flying f*ck I want because I don't have to worries about being nervous.

    #7: Socializing and doing new stuff. This is actually the same as #3, but focusing on improving social relations will make you happier, thus releasing dopamine, thus challenging you and making you a more all-round person.

    #8: Braintraining. Tell yourself every day in the morning that you are a BEAST. Tell yourself that no stupid addiction can destroy you. YOU WILL DESTROY PORN BY NOT GIVING IN TO IT. YOU CONTROL PORN, BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED IT. AND WHEN YOU DON'T NEED IT, IT CAN NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER YOU. Tell yourself this shit every day. Even if it is a lie, eventually you will believe this lie. Trust me, I have been there.

    #9: Accept life and where you are. Respecting reality gives a sense of release and relaxation. This will make sure you will use your addicted pathways as less as possible. Many guys have been on here for 120+ days, but did little rewiring because they still used their addicted pathways by fantasizing about porn, quickly rubbing one out, edging or looking at pictures of girls on facebook. So don't give any attention to PMO if you can. Just know your goal (no PMO) and refrain from doing PMO activities or activities that lead to that.

    These are the best ones I could think of now. I might come up with more, but this post is getting way too long. Curious on my condition now? I get random boners when watching series, I most mornings have morning wood, but they still disappear fastly, but they are there for around 80%. My confidence is rising every day. My skin is clearer. I am being so much more productive. I nearly quit gaming. I am more outside. I am actually in a need for socializing and enjoying it. I have improved my sense of style, my appearance and attraction. I AM ONLY ON DAY 27 MATES, I HAVEN'T EVEN REACHED 90 YET. THIS COULD BE YOU. DEVOTE ALL YOUR POWERS TO OVERCOMING PORN AND YOU WILL BECOME A GOD. You need to stand up for yourself.

    Anybody tried naturally increasing nitric oxide in their bod? Was reading a post on a bodybuilding site talking about it as a way to improve vascularity (for aesthetic purposes and strength gains) and of course I thought: is t that the stuff in hard-on pills and those weird supplements you see on late night tv?

    So it should also work to help boost the railroad spike. Natural sources include pomegranate, spinach and some other stuff I can't remember at the moment.

    The idea is that by consuming large amounts you can spike your nitric oxide content.

    @Daxos, Excellent! The only addition that I would suggest is:

    # 10: Focus on who you are going to be. Who will you be in 5 years, 10 years and 25 years? Make it as concrete as you can; then, keep heading in that direction and avoid any un necessary detours.
    A long term goal gives meaning to short term battles and encourages us to keep going through tough times and through flatline.

    Yes, but smaller ones. My erectile quality is improving at a slower rate now. But that is probably since my cravings have greatly reduced. But I do notice some blood flow down there when I am at the gym seeing an attractive woman. And that is without fantasizing about her or even talking to her. After around 37 days or so, my cravings dropped immensely and I feel consistently good now. In the first 37 days, I would have good days, and days on which cravings and flashbacks were haunting me at times.
    I have reached the point of where my body and brains have really acknowledged that porn is of the past. My body is now actively repairing.

    I am sure it will for you as well. I was only able to get NoFap really started consistently when I moved to the city and had little time left to play games and being lazy. Being lazy and sitting at your computer all day made me relapse a lot of times. But now I see women all day long and that really motivates me to endure NoFap.

    Please let me know when you attempt to have sex and how that goes! I have a girlfriend so hopefully rewiring will speed up the process. We got this man, After my last relapse, I kinda came to terms and I think my mind sent me straight into flatline. I have no desire for sex or porn at the moment. Hopefully my real libido returns soon.

    You have an awesome attitude on your goals and advice for others I also am 6 days into this new program working diligently on it I'm also a true athletic guy for my age I wobt tell you that unless you found find out on your own. I also belong to a gym and I think that's probably been one of the greatest attributes toward distressing as well as taking that sexual energy into another form I have to take a lot of herbs which I know that's probably increased my sexual urges so I have to lay off those as much as I hate it I'm a true Health fanatic and OCD in my looks my body I've been struggling lately these last couple days hoping that it will pass cuz I have my goal is to at least make it 30 days if not the 90 right now the urge isn't pornography but just playing with my Johnson we all need a support system and I've been looking for others to reach out to and hopefully they will reach out and return I wish there was this program was more of a Skype session it even the chance to have a workshop somewhere. I do have strong sexual desires for my age I am married but even that doesn't suffice me. Would you like to tag up for mutual support? Later Dude

    I am more than happy to help you out with anything i know. What did you specifically had in mind? I am not really following you haha.
    For what i have noticed, the first 30 days, cravings and sexual desire are constant and high. That is understandable since your brain is thinking like 'where the fuck did our harem of women go (the porn)'. So your brain needs around 30 days to really understand that porn is OVER. I am now on day 43 and i have no cravings and sexual desires UNLESS i meet up with nice girls.

    It will probably take some time haha. I wanted to stay away from sex for atleast 60 days, but i know that you can do with less. I just want a high testosterone level haha.
    I advice you to go 30 days without PMO, then after 30 days you are allowed to have slow sex with girlfriend, but no ORGASM. You can have intercourse, but do NOT orgasm. You will need between 60 and 90 days of no orgasm to get the real benefits. Cuddling, kissing, hugging and even looking at your girlfriend does speed up the rewiring. But do NOT fantasize about her. Fantasizing activates the addicted pathways. Just make out with her already. Just make sure you do not orgasm until day 60 and you will be fine.
    Many people think you NEED to go 90-120 days monkmode, but this is stupid in my opinion. Rewiring is more important than abstaining, after 30 days a minimum though :p

    I was just wanting a bud to keep each other in "hand check" so to speak. No one can keep you from caving in, but just knowing you have someone's support. I'm struggling with "m"desires as my wife & I had an argument. It's been a rough several yrs. Have a good one

    Thank you for sharing your strategies, super powerful stuff here. When you mentioned you nearly quit gaming, that caught my attention. I have been addicted to my one game as long as I've been addicted to PMO, they've gone hand in hand for nearly 15 years. I used gaming to escape reality because I didn't know how to cope with stress. For me, gaming was my most time consuming and destructive habit. There are support groups for gaming addiction as well if that helps.

    Let me tell you, gaming was my number 1 source of happiness. Gaming was so ecstatic for me. It still is many times, but NoFap made me realize that gaming is a means of relaxing. And when you realize that when you are always drained of sexual energy and have a low sperm count due to fapping all the time, your brain actually thinks it is time to relax 24/7 since we fertilized the entire world with our semen. That is why gaming is such a powerful relaxing tool for fappers because you feel no need for anything else than relaxation. Right now i only feel like gaming after doing others productive things. I now only game maybe 1 or 2 hours a day as opposed to 6 to 8 hours. I never could have imagined i would game that much less after NoFap, but it is actually much better now!

    I know it's powerful. Do you edge and release or try to keep it at Bay? It's almost too much for me to start edging without taking it home! Good luck man, have a good one. When I feel that unrelenting URGE I go for a run to take the tension off my BALZ might help?

    The powerful urges only occur the first 30 days i noticed. There is no other way than to distract yourself from any PMO related material. In my first 30 days, i planned my days so tightly that i wouldnt even have the time to open a screen for porn. That is how i survived. So make sure you are not bored so your mind cannot wander. When you do feel an urge, you can do some things to prevent a relapse: go for a run indeed, take a cold shower, do some push-ups, listen to really loud music, run to another room and start doing random stuff there. And please do not edge. Edging is really bad.
