Tips on How to Start Well/Keep Motivation Going

Hey fellow LOTR brother! What helps me is to get out of the house/ minimize my internet time and exposure to triggers that first week. Basically bc that period is very sensitive in that anything will set you off. To keep your motivation going this forum is a great resource. Reading people's success stories and about their experiences really helps at the low points. Aside from that, there are also great books on the topic like "Your brain on Porn" by Gary Wilson, which are both informational and motivating. Again, I really stress the avoidance of triggers- which includes even sexual fantasies or thoughts. How do you avoid sexual thoughts? You really can't at first, but when they do come up try to switch your focus to your other priorities like studying or some other activity. When a sexual thought comes up, I also like to imagine putting all those images into a pile, pouring kerosene over it, and just burning it all. It's a weird trick haha, but it usually works.
