Trouble Sleeping

    I have found that one of the times I'm consistently hit with the strongest urges to PMO is as I'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep. From what I've read this is not uncommon. I have been putting my phone far enough away that I can't reach it while in bed, and I usually exercise in the afternoon, which I think helps. But I still end up lying awake in bed unable to fall asleep while I mentally battle with the desire to PMO. I hate this as I just want to fall asleep knowing I'll feel more in the right state of mind the next morning.

    What have you guys found to help you go to sleep or at least cut back on these night time urges?

    Night time can be a pain in the ass. I have been struggling with sleeping problems for years and years. I learned a few useful tips from my stays in psychiatric hospitals.

    1. Dont lie awake in bed for too long. Get up and drink a glass of water, a cup of tea etc then try to go back to sleep.

    2. Try to calm yourself down with a hot bath or a shower.

    3. Burn some herbs to calm you down.

    4. Make sure to not go to bed hungry.

    5. Listen to some calm music.

    6. Make sure to get out in the sun before 12 in the morning to start producing sleep hormones.

    7. Dont stay in bed during daytime. It will give you bad associations to sleeping and bed.
