I'm 29 years old and have known for a long time that my porn and masturbation is a big problem. I've tried talking to other people in my life about it and asked for advice, but they don't understand how I can just keep watching porn and have orgasm after orgasm. Their experience is that they just watch some porn masturbate and be done with it, while with me I can watch all day and compulsively touch myself. They don't get the concept of edging and they think that I am just making this whole sexual problem up or that it is psychosomatic. It's good to find a place where people are more honest about their problems and aren't shamed like I have been.

One time I was able to stop touching myself at all for a period of about 80 days (I mean no sexual stimulation). I remember thinking it didn't turn me into a superman, but the cravings stopped and I was able to focus on other areas of my life. I had more energy, and my sleep was way better, I felt more healthy. I want to get back to that. I did this about a year ago, and I had less stress because I was at my parents house. Even though I had no accountability like this forum might give me I had less stress and it is the stress that tends to make me relapse.

I have several goals for my Nofap journey.

    1. Cut porn/sexual digital images out of my life
    2. Not see escorts
    3. Once my brain has healed from the addiction, start having sex and relationships with women.

I look forward to posting here in awhile and watching my meter on my signature slowly go up.

    Thank you

  4. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal, we could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
