I just joined this site today, although I gave up porn 7 days ago. And this is the first time since I was 9 that I ever tried to give it up. The first few days were easy, but now I'm trying to justify that watching porn is okay. I find myself thinking, "It's no big deal," or "It's just one time." I haven't gone back to porn yet, but I almost did a few minutes ago. In fact, writing this post helped me out. Surely, this is a normal thought for any addiction, but does it ever stop or lessen? Over the past 2-3 days, I've wondered whether or not I'm more stressed without porn than I was with porn.

    Hi Katie,

Welcome to the NoFap forums! Congratulations on your amazing 7 day streak of giving up porn! That is a great achievement!

I'm really glad to hear you resisted the temptation to look at porn, it's natural to have that voice in your head that will try and tell you that one more porn hit won't matter- we all struggle with that and can all relate!

I'm 34 so for me, porn didn't become prevalent until I was 17 ish and I certainly didn't have access to until I was about 20 ish- I can't imagine what it must be like to be exposed to porn at such a young age! It must be very difficult for you!

We are all hear to help you and support you and there is a panic button on the website you can use if you feel you are going to relapse.

Can I ask, are you just abstaining from watching Porn? or are you abstaining from Masturbation and Orgasm entirely?

The longer you go without viewing porn the better, your brain/mind and body will begin to heal!

  3. I had the same thoughts sometimes. I guess it's normal to question the things we do. Just stay strong and don't relapse because you will always know after you relapse that porn is not okay.

Right now, I'm just abstaining from porn. I don't think I can handle giving up masturbation. Maybe down the road. But I thought I'd take things one step at a time.

Of course, you have to do what you feel is right for you and what you feel ready for. You will know ultimately what you need to do to help you.

Porn plays with brain. Watching porn for me changes me i cant focus on studies and what i want to do is watch more porn. Hunger for porn never ends.

  7. That is your Addicted Brain trying to get you to watch lorn is it can get its reward. It will put all kinds of thoughts in your head. You have to ignore it. It's hard as hell but that's the gist of it.

  8. You need to stop tmasturbating too. It's part of the addictive cycle since one inevitably leads to the other. Read up on Rebooting in the forums.
