I get you but I'm trying to gather the free programs so any one even those who don't want to pay could use them.
So what are you using covenant eyes or ever accountable or sth else?

Never heard of it. I will test it. Thanks.
I have noticed that there is an uninstall tool: http://kurupira.net/en/aviso_chrome_en.html what do you think about that?

@xXsinnerXx Friend you are doing a great service by sharing these tech hacks. Cheers!

Personally, for me, blocking access to crap has been very helpful in my reboot. It gives us time to realize our stupidity. It is a very effective strategy in my opinion.

I've installed the SPIN browser (I use android). Then I used App lock and blocked Playstore, Chrome and inbuilt browser apps. I changed the app lock settings and disabled fingerprint recognition and enabled password only recognition.

I made my friend to set up a password that only he knows. So now I'm better equipped against this fight.

In order to actually uninstall the program I had to put it to sleep, which required me to enter a password.

I used Kurupira for a day or so. It blocked a lot of websites that I like to go to that are unrelated to PMO, like a football message board. I uninstalled Kurupira last night and am trying Forticlient today. If it works out well, i am going to keep Forticlient and give the password to a buddy of mine.

No problem mate. We're here to support each other!
SPIN is a good choice! But it blocks youtube which is not a problem because there's a youtube app.
Totally agree. We must use whatever tools out there to stop this addiction. I consider it a victory when those apps save me from a relapse. I don't care whether it's willpower or a filter app, We need to stay away from porn as much as we can.

Thanks for reporting. I think I'll have to give it a try anyway to see if we could use to our advantage.
It should work well. It's one of the best filters out there. To me, it's a life-saving app.

Thanks for this list, appreciate the effort!
I installed Forticlient for my windows which work great.
However, it only blocks porn sites. If I also want to block certain websites like instagram and reddit, what would be the best way to go?

I tried to install Pluckeye as well but the default blocking of all pictures was a bit too inconvenient.

I would also recommend ******** for people with an android phone, which works great for me.

    Glad you like it!
You could block them using forticlient. Go to Web Security, then click on the button in the upper right corner, then use the exclusion list to block whatever you want.
Note that to edit exclusions, you would have to unlock forticlient from the lower right corner "Unlock" and if you have password protected forticlient you would have to go to settings and press the lock button on the upper right corner and enter the password.
If you want to block images and videos on reddit while still having access to reddit.com, you could use forceDNS + fapsecure. I have included both in the post.
Totally agree with you. I have included the commands to block only porn sites and allow everything else. Download the pluckeye settings file and place it on the desktop then open Command prompt from start menu and enter the commands that I've posted. Pluckeye allows you to block sites as you browse which is great and you can't do that by using forticlient for example because you would need the password.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'm surely gonna give it a try!

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

For now I will use the forticlient with my own added websites, seems like a good system to me. Might add pluckeye later if this would not be enough.
I know P does not have added value in my life, however, there are few moments where I seem to forget this and this will help a lot in these moments.

    Stay safe

    Glad I found this thread.

First, I recently had to upgrade from a Blackberry 10 phone to an Android. I had the BB phone locked down, since they had excellent parental controls in their settings that both disabled the web browser and disabled new apps from being installed. Anyway, it's not that important to know... but I'm still getting over not having it! Needless to say, it's much more difficult locking down an Android.

Does anyone have any experience with the PluckEye Browser on Android? Can it carry over rules that you set on your desktop? And/or how does it compare to the Spin browser on Android?

Second, I switched a couple months ago from Windows to Linux (Windows 10 was really ticking me off, especially since my Netbook did not have the space to support all of its updates). And while I am content with going to an extreme PluckEye route that blocks all websites except for those that I whitelist, I am hoping to go for a less extreme option that can work in tandem with CleanBrowsing DNS (at least for the time being, since I could use a bit more internet flexibility for the next few months... but unfortunately I think the whitelist strategy is the only way to keep me away from all P).

Does anyone happen to to know how to force a DNS in Linux Mint, in a way that can't be easily changed?

I haven't tried it yet. But I think it's possible to import configurations: https://www.pluckeye.net/android.html.
Spin browser blocks all porn and it's database is regularly updated.
I'm working on a tutorial to enforce cleanbrowsing DNS on android while allowing youtube and reddit based on this:https://cleanbrowsing.org/guides/android
The only way I know is by letting someone change your root account password.
I have posted a pluckeye-settings file which blocks most porn sites when imported to pluckeye while allowing other sites if you wanna give it a try. But it's not enough to be used alone.
If I were you, I would have installed windows 8.1 which is much lighter than 10. I have posted a program for windows that PERMANENTLY changes the DNS to cleanbrowsing.

Regarding Android: I will try out Spin browser, but it seems likely that I will need to go with a very strict PluckEye or no web browser, since I know of too many ways to find P-subs.

Regarding Linux: Unfortunately, I kind of expected that root permissions would be the only/best way to force the DNS settings. Windows 8 might have been a good option to try... but the ease of Linux and the open-source formatting is a lot nicer to work with, in many ways. I might choose to use PluckEye LockBox to store a root password. Or again, I might just go with very restrictive PluckEye settings.

    Thanks!

If you mean subreddits, then spin blocks reddit.com. It also blocks proxy sites.
I'm interested to know how you find porn even when using those filters because I want to block all possible ways to watch porn. Could you give me some examples?

Sure thing... I'll send you a message, since I obviously don't want to post in a public forum how to get past filters.
