Context: I am in highschool and remote learning has been draining me of my motivation and energy since I have to stay home all the time. My family isn't in the best situation and I still have to keep up with my grades. I am in the journey of building good habits and continuing my passion, but it is SUPER DUPER hard with not masterbaiting since I can't release my stress. It makes me really want to jerk it, but I am holding it in fine because of porn blockers and my discipline.

I started NoFap since late March and now it has been getting really hard. In the past masterbation was my remedy for reliving stress, but after I quit it I haven't been able to find a way to relieve my build up of stress. I have tried meditation, but I gave up since I wasn't motivated enough. Before I also exercised regularly, but I also gave that up since I got lazy and decided to stop which led me to stop is entirely. Although I haven't tried every way of reliving stress other than masterbation, I am open to new options and trying new things.

It's a really difficult place to be in when you just can't find the lift you need to do things. Thinking negatively doesn't help any. It's important to just try something, one thing, like exercising again, and then after you do it, write down what you got from the experience and stick it on your door. It'lla ct as a booster for you. Then do it again the next day and after that and keep logging the benefits. Build that list up and it will build your motivation too.

Have you tried watching motivational videos on youtube?

    What about cycling?

I always like to remind myself that if I don't do anything, my feelings of apathy and lethargy and disinterest will just carry on, so I'd might as well do something positive even if I do feel crap whilst doing it. I'll feel crap either way, so I'd might as well feel like crap whilst being in nature, or seeing some sights on my bike, instead of doing nothing and feeling even more crap for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

    Be strong & Power on!

The reason why you feel so stressed is most likely because of the tension and energy. I find for myself that especially tension is a massive challenge. I promise you this simple technique can change your life: research on bioenergetics, videos, books and try these exercises. They are amazing stress releases and completely change you as a person if you've been holding back repressed emotion and tension for a long time

I plan on starting to journal, but I keep putting it aside until college. I will start this summer and journal my experience so that I can create clear goals for the future. I also plan on masterbaiting every sunday in the summer as an incentive for working hard, but idk if this will mess up my journey in NoFap. Instead of completely missing out the benefits of masterbaiting I plan to do it every week so that it isn't overly addicting, but it acts as a stress reliever or goal that I have to work for. Such as studying for "x" hours to have this sunday funday or exercising the whole week in order to allow myself to indulge in this pleasurable activity.

I'm going to ask you a few questions:
1: Do you think counting the days is going to help your process or is it better to not count and just go with the flow?
2: Do you think NoFap deserves so much attention that you plan everything around this, or should NoFap just be a little tool to get some more energy and motivation for your real life?
3: What do you want to get out of NoFap?

This might help you, my best streaks of NoFap were when I didn't count at all. At the moment I just stopped counting and just don't masturbate. I don't really think about it either, I just don't fap.

In addition to this, the bioenergetics exercises help me stay clear of that tension that we all experience some weeks in.

    1. I think counting the days will make it seem as though time is moving slow, but I think it can be beneficial for your confidence because restraining from masterbaiting for so long is not easy.
    2. I think NoFap should be a tool for self discipline and energy, but I don't think it is something that is super important where you have to plan everything around it. It should just be PMO removed from your life and gives you more time to work on other stuff along with more energy.
    3. In my past experiences with NoFap it felt different from masterbaiting. When I went on a two month NoFap streak last year I was more self diciplined and had more in mind to improve myself, but after masterbiating again that self dicipline left. Now after starting NoFap again I am starting to learn more about computer science so that I can build a foundation before college. Currently I don't feel too different, and I feel as if NoFap didn't do much, but in my mind I feel as if I am more determined to reach my goal of learning as much as I can in the 2 years I have before college. So, I seek change out of NoFap, I want more self dicipline and I want to use it to give me motivation. The problem is that I can't find a way to relieve stress. Even though I started exercising again, I don't see enjoyment out of it but I might look into other ways such as bioenergetics exercises.

  10. i have the same.

since schools closed, all those homework stuff depletes my energy and withholds me from making homework, I simply do not have the motivation and can't put myself to action.

After a while of NoFap it becomes easier because your mental fortitude gets stronger and resisting it becomes easier. I also learned that you should know that you feel horny but just avoid doing anything. By not thinking about stopping the horny feeling just embrace it and know its there, but just don't do anything. I felt like that helped because it made me stop the horny feeling faster than just trying to forcefully stop it.

Here is a resource that may help, that I use.

There are videos about all kinds of things from Sadhguru. What I want to point out in particular are the meditations and yoga practices available through this app. The meditations keep you involved, and the yoga practices are pretty simple. I have been using these yoga practices and meditations for awhile. I noticed a stark change in my energy and mindset now, especially in the morning.

Something that also works really well it a burst of cathartic exercises. I use kickboxing high intensity workouts to really get that stress and anger out of my body and feel tired but good afterwards
