What are common symptoms of a venous leak? My penis gets hard(not as hard as before probably 85-90% not like a rock) and after 5 minutes it starts going flacid! This is driving me crazy. I am thinking I could possibly have a leak as nothing else explains this.

Hi I'm sorry to hear you are suffering with difficulties in maintaining erections- I know from personal experience how upsetting and defeating that can feel.

I think it is very, very rare for young men to be experiencing a leak however if you are concerned that your erectile dysfunction could be the result of a physical problem then you should go to your Doctors and have them examine you and take some tests to determine f it is a physical reason.

More often than not, the reason is psychological and the fact you have created a NOFAP account shows that you are aware you have an issue with masturbation and porn abuse, your profile says you are 22- how long have you been fapping to porn and how often? It's likely that your erections are affected due to porn abuse.

Exactly what ‘Ready to be healthy’ said.

Venous leak is seriously rare in any case, let alone a young male.

If you’re having difficulty in getting a full erection and keeping it, it’s likely a result of something else.
    • Overweight/out of shape
    • Diabetes
    • Anxiety/mental (worrying about it can cause erectyle problems)
    • The most likely one. Porn use.
Do NoFap seriously and if you see no improvements, then I would go to a doctor.

I tried to masturbate through this problem.I need manual simulation to get it up(although I do get random boners/when I sleep although boner quality isn't the best) I have already masturbated 4 times today and I noticed that I seem to get frustrated(maybe anxiety because im expecting ED) and I eventually lose arousal while I am masturbating. My arousal is more linked to visuals than to actual feeling on my penis. My penile shaft feels pretty numb and if I use lube nowadays I seem to lose the erection as in I can no longer use lube when I masturbate(something ive done for years) Im getting extremely nervous. I don't know how much of this is mental and how much is actually a health concern.

    Chrispaul,

I can't say for sure in regards to your physical health so you should see a doctor to rule any serious physical reasons and put your mind at rest.

    Having said that,

Based on the rest of your post you seem to have an excessive addiction to masturbation to porn- you say you have masturbated 4 times today alone??? That is very excessive and if each time you are doing it to porn then there is no wonder you are experiencing lack of sensation and erectile difficulties!! Porn rewires your brain and you are overdosing on dopamine, it means that normal healthy stimulus with a sex partner is not likely going to arouse you much! Do you want to try abstaining from PMO?? Have you tried setting yourself a goal or getting involved with the forums and other users for help and advice?

Do you have any other hobbies, perhaps something physical like swimming or going to the gym? Try filling your time with those things - masturbating 4 times a day must be leaving you with very little time??

You came to NoFap for a reason, what was that?

I normally only do it once a day,but for some reason I have been having these horrible issues. Having ED is emotionally distressful, honestly I can't take my mind of the fact that my penis for some odd reason is no longer working. I have been watching porn and masturbating since I was an early teen so it has been about 10 years and I would say it is an every day thing. I came to nofap to figure out what is wrong with my penis and hopefully to find a solution. It just bothers me when I read studies that there is no proof that watching porn causes ED,it gives me paranoia to think that I may be ignoring a serious issue.

Why does my penis start out hard and then swiftly lose blood flow? It just does not make any sense and I am desperate. ED med C works 90% of the time but sometimes only the shaft gets hard and the head doesn't get engorged with blood. I want my penis and my confidence back.If my problem was as easy as letting go of porn I would be ecstatic.

In the meantime I would like to find some scientific proof that nofap does indeed cure ED.

To be fair I don't see how you can rule out porn abuse as a possible reason for your ED when you are not willing to attempt to abstain from porn/masturbation to see if it helps?

I know full well how horrible and desperate ED can make you feel- I have been suffering with it for the past 5 almost 6 years and I was in a relationship that entire time, the effects of my ED was absolutely devastating on me and my partner so I know just how terrible it is- I also know that I would (and am) trying ANYTHING to cure my ED and wouldn't just rule out Porn abuse as a cause because I secretly don't want to give up fapping to porn.

I went to my doctor - I had blood tests done, testosterone level checked, a physical exam on my groin to ensure no swelling or any other problems- I had these tests done several times- there is nothing physically wrong with me- it's easier to solve if it's a physical reason (or at least understand why) - means we don't have to take a long hard look at ourselves...

I tried psycho-sexual counselling- which I still do on a semi regular basis- it was years before I realised that the fact I had been fapping to porn for over a decade with no other forms of stimulation (prior to my relationship) that I started to realise it could well be the problem.

Psychological issues affecting the body or the penis is nothing new- long before the internet and porn men had ED and many of them was because of mental issues not physical ones- you can talk about the physicality of blood going in the penis all you like but nothing is more powerful than the human mind and if your insecurity is bad enough or your worry and stress- your penis will not get hard, regardless of blood flow... my penis used to behave like yours in that it would get mostly hard (blood flow) but could become flaccid in the blink of an eye again.

You say you came to this site to figure out what is wrong with your penis- you know nofap advocates giving up porn so you must realise that would be the main advice you would get here- no one here can rule out physical reasons for you- only a Doctor can do that- make an appointment- physical reasons for loss of erection at a young age are extremely rare - if your Doctor rules out physical reasons- you can then perhaps accept that your mind is the problem.

I'm saying this to you as a fellow ED sufferer but there is no doubt in my mind that a prolonged exposure to porn and masturbating to hardcore images is the cause of my ED and abstaining could well help you too.

As for proof- go to the success stories forums- actual peoples testimonies is proof surely?

Chrispaul, this sounds like an excessive masturbating issue and might be caused by doing it too frequently. please speak to your urologist to seek treatment. Since this is caused by your penis's inability to store blood it may be possible you may have a vascular disease. I would also change your habbits gradually as if you stop immediately you may feel intense pressure in your testicles. Please update us on how this goes! :emoji_100:

Or you could just give it a try and learn from personal experience. If the studies brought forward on the yourbrainonporn website don’t convince you, you probably won’t find much that will. You’re just going to have to try it for yourself.
I can vouch for this. A year ago I was approaching worthlessness in the erection department. After a 90 day reboot and an additional 50+ days of abstinence from P and M, I’ve gained back pretty much all of my sexual function. I’m obviously not where I want to be ideally as I have since relapsed, but I’ve seen the benefits and am enjoying them.

I thought I had venous leak, until I had a sudden minute semi erection woody at work last month because of a hot guy I spoke to in real life. I haven't been totally consistent in avoiding porn, but I don't think people that have venous leak can get spontaneous erections. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

Also, I feel not interested in 'things' or activities as much as I want to be. This more than likely is indicating that I am suffering from dopamine down-regulation from over-exposure to porn.

    Trust in the process.
