Can someone share tips to increase Vitamin-D other than getting enough sunlight?

  2. Sunlight converts (in small quantities) cholesterol into Vitamin D. Cholesterol, of course, is a fat-loving substance, one which ties the two phospholipid layers together in all of your cell membranes (lipids are fats) and it is not exactly the boogeyman that it has been made out to be. Vitamin D, being a fatty substance, can be expected to be found more in natural fatty foods.

Eggs are one good source of vitamin D. Owing to the toxins in them, I would steer clear of seafoods, fish, and liver--all of which people will say are good sources for it. Vitamin-D supplements are not an unreasonable option. Though it is a fat-soluble vitamin, unlike vitamin A it is extremely rare to reach an overdose threshold with vitamin D--it would take some real effort, and considerably more than a day's worth of supplements. So don't be afraid to experiment with the supplemental variety. Many packaged/processed foods nowadays have some added vitamin D3, especially dairy products, so those may be an option, but they are unlikely to give more than small amounts--enough, perhaps, for maintenance levels, but not enough for a therapeutic dose or to counteract a deficiency.

  3. If this feels like too much info and takes too much time to read consider how much time is wasted on PMO.

And do a blood test every so often so you actually know where it's at. Otherwise you're going at it blind aren't you?

The LC MS stands for chromatography mass spectrometry, it's the type of test and it matters. It seems silly to me to go with the 30ng/ml range but then again they don't seem to understand it beyond having it for bones which is what the old standards are based on.

Vitamin D is produced when the skin is exposed to the sun's ultraviolet rays and is also found in supplements and some foods. Most people need to be in the sun for 5 to 30 minutes at least two days a week to produce enough vitamin D.

I have taken a daily vitamin D supplement for the last few years (its an oral spray, but other kinds are available). I live in the UK which can get pretty overcast for weeks at a time (this past summer was a big exception), and during the winter time i would frequently go to work in the dark and leave in the dark as well.

There are other advantages to getting sunlight and spending time outdoors regularly - boosting mood is the one i typically miss - but nothing wrong with supplements if your lifestyle prevents this.
