    Hi all,
Its good to know there are others that would like to stop fapping. I have been fapping for about 7 years but over the past year I have been going at it. By this I mean I have been looking at more that just women spreading, but have ventured into transwomen, males and other pictures and video's. I really would like to stop. I am 57, married and fap about 3 times a day. Sometimes I sit in front of the computer for 2 to 3 hours. Its a waste of time and I come away feeling empty and unfulfilled. I have been reading the forum and other info on NoFap site and can identify with a lot of the folks. I just do not know how to stop. I am rather embarrassed to be online talking about this, to me it rather personal. But here I am looking to give it a try. I guess for me the accountability part to all of you will help me to stop.
    Cheers

Maybe you could give your computer to a friend for a week. So you won't have access to it. Or something like that. Or never actually go home. But stay out in public for a long time so you'll go right to sleep when you go home.

    Day 2 PMO Fap Free.
Hi Aragonsr, thanks for the thought unfortunately I telecommute and am on the computer 8 - 10 hours a day. Also I have a mobile phone, pad and 2 computers. The problem does not belong to the computers but to me, I own the problem. I have to figure out how to not PMO all day while at work. I know how to PMO all day while at work but that's not working for me anymore. Basically I can fap anywhere or anytime we want to and electronic device's have escalated that. I have tried to work in the library, at the coffee shop or the local eatery, but something catches my attention and my attention turns to PMO.
For the last two days I have thought nothing but PMO. That's all. Emotionally I am pretty raw. Everything I do seems to bring me back to PMO. But I have not acted on it. I have been to NoFap several times a day and read info about the porn industry and the manipulation that goes on to promote PMO. I am listening to what being by the folks. I am still young to no fapping but I am educating myself about how I ended up here. I did not like where I was headed and never realized that this is such a problem, and to be honest I did/do not even know what the problem is. To me MO is such a personal thing I can not believe how its talked about on NoFap, but when I check out where I was going, the stuff I was looking at, I feel like I belong.
Anyway you probably did not expect this as a reply but this is where I am.
    Cheers

    Welcome to NoFap.

A few things that I've implemented since joining this site are:

    1) Set my homepage to http://www.nofap.org/forum/forum.php
    2) I'm keeping my door open at all times to make it hard to PMO. I live with two female roommates.
    3) Bookmarked http://emergency.nofap.org - it works best if you don't keep hitting refresh but take what you need from it and move on.
    4) I'm taking cold showers.
    5) I did some research on http://www.yourbrainonporn.com and watched the Ted talks videos there.
    6) I'm reading/posting as much as I can on this forum.
    7) I'm keeping a daily journal and created a counter to track my progress.
    8) I wear a rubber band on my wrist that I snap whenever I have a sexual thought or become aroused.
    9) I flex all of my muscles rhythmically whenever I feel like I'm going to get an erection to direct blood flow away from it.
    10) I've watched "Sacred Sexuality" videos on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/user/SacredS...sort=da&view=0

For brand new members I recommend doing these three things:

    1. Create a journal and post in it everyday, especially when you get urges. Just writing down that I have an urge helps to alleviate it.

    2. Set a goal and create a PMO counter to track your progress. Copy and paste it in to your signature. (You can edit your signature in your account settings.)

    3. Read and respond to other peoples journals. This will help to make you realize that you are not alone and give you hope and ideas on how to further develop in your recovery.

If you do these three things you'll be off to a great start.

    Best of luck.

    - vM
