Having sex with this girl will end up hurting her and breaking her heart for your own pleasure. And you know it. Don't be selfish

Your religious views intrigue me. You seem to believe in God but reject organized religion, particularly Christianity. What would you say your views on God are? And what makes you think he'd want you to "get some succ"?

Jesus turned water into wine. He's clearly up for having a bit of fun. Why would god give us the desire to have sex and the pleasure from it if he didn't want us to enjoy it?
The bible was made for humans to follow thousands of years ago. Everything is different now. I don't think god cares what we do as long as we are good to ourselves and others.

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

Good question! Firstly: upbringing. I have always learnt this from my parents. Secondly: education. For a study I did last year I had to find sources about the effects of sex, and found less than I'd expected but I did find some (I hope that more and more reliable sources about porn and sex will be public soon, like there are about smoking and alcohol (note: I am not drawing a line through these four things: personally, I think porn and smoking are bad, sex is good, and I am indifferent about alcohol. But all four have effects that people should know about)). Thirdly: my own sense, based on all things I've learnt in life, and on what I've learnt through reading parts of the Bible.

    Cool, cool.

So as a porn addict , are you connected to the people you have watched having sex? Why or why not ?

So I felt like a dick for doing and asking for things without a real intention to have a relationship. I told her and she wasn't very happy but I was happy for doing so because I believed this was just another response from my addict. All I wanted was sex even though I didn't really like her for who she was. I was only looking forward towards some organs to temporary satisfy me. I'm already a porn addict... Let me not become a sex addict too.

I see where you are coming from. But I think you're a little misunderstanding the purpose of divine morals. First off my view of Jesus is different then yours since being I'm a Muslim. Equating Jesus, a man, to God, makes no sense to me. I see him as just a prophet. But the rules about sex are the same.

The point of revelation and guidance is that it applies to all mankind at all times. What's right and wrong doesn't change based on the year. I'll give an example. In Roman times they forced slaves to fight in gladiator matches. Was this moral just because it was accepted at the time? Of course not. What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong, the year is irrelevant. And the only one who can decide what right and wrong is is God.

Also, no religion bans sex. If you are married you can have sex with your wife. And obviously you can enjoy it. And I'm not sure what the bible says about heaven, but I know the Quran tasks about getting beautiful virgin wives in Jannah (Islamic heaven).

Anyways, hope this makes sense. Not trying to attack your point of view, just trying to share my own.

No, fortunately it doesn't work like that! [IMG] However:
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28, KJV This means that besides whatever evidence on porn being bad we may have, it is also advised against by Jesus. But that's not the topic of this thread. [IMG]

Wow!! Thank you very much Dizzy!! :)!

Jesus says looking at a woman and lusting is the same as having sex...

I am asking then, does your belief match Jesus’ words ?

you said : “Having sex creates a sexual connection to Your partner for life. “

Please understand I mean this gently:

If you are a porn user, you have certainly had sex with many, many, women (this is adultery)...

    So the question is :

did you feel or realize you are still connected to them (per your theory)?

No, he did not. [IMG] Note the 'in his heart'. [IMG]
But I think I've said enough on this; I don't feel like it's relevant to the other people in this thread anymore. [IMG]

Bro--I'm not trying to be a jerk but as a fellow believer myself, you are doing us a disservice by poorly advocating our positions then abandoning it when asked about it. I don't understand why answering this question would not be relevant?

Your reasoning is why you gave the advice--right? Initially I thought I could support your view, but we have only peeled it back 1-layer and you appear to be hiding/saying it's not relevant?

Can we agree, that if your reasoning is flawed, then by extension would your advice be as well?

    Recap:

Dizzy's advice: "Don't have sex because you will forever be connected to those women."

    I asked how?

You based your belief and advice on

    1) your parents
    2) your school sex study
    3) The Bible and your understanding of it.

Your reasons 1 & 2 are personal, meaning that advice was not meant to be shared publicly; your parents raised you, and honestly it's admirable you are upholding their lessons for you.

So the only reason left is your reason#3. You gave me one verse to work with... and that verse points to the opposite reality--of what you are advocating. You know Christ exemplifies the spirit of the law, not just the letter of the law. In this sense, the letter is "Thou shalt not commit adultery". Since sin entered the world men have desired women illicitly but without committing the act of adultery or fornication. They thought "oh it's only in the heart therefore it doesn't count." But here comes Jesus, Son of God, who reveals--"hey guys, if you desire a woman in your heart, please know that to God it is as if you have committed adultery."

Adultery is a sexual sin. Jesus' words (the exact verse you quoted) mean that engaging in lust/porn is also a sexual sin. In both, you are using your body, heart and mind to go against God's commandment for purity. Jesus' point that lust in the heart is the same as committing adultery.

PMO is the sin of adultery too. Aren't you aware of that?

The reality is you and I can be an adulterer AND a virgin according to the Bible.

Refraining from Sexual activity we do so because we LOVE God, I will remain open to your original idea but you would need to actually express, explain, and advocate with something more substantial.
