Watching P Without Edging

    Hi everyone, as of now I'm on my 18th day of my abstinence streak. I feel wonderful, but I still see myself staying up late and watching P, sometimes for hours. On one side, I'm happy that I don't edge, but on the other end, I feel like this is really impending my progress.

    How can I solve this? Is this just a part of the flatline? I'm trying to break out of severe addiction, so is this inevitable? Thank you all in advance.

    You know it's the right thing to do! :)
    Learn to let go and you will be proud of yourself!
     
  3. Learn to let go. It's start with the emotions in your heart. Fear, pain, Love, freedom... all of those emotions need to be on your side. Don't fight yourself. Write a letter to your younger-self. That helps a little :)

  5. You are doing great :D don't forget. This is supposed to be difficult. But even if you struggle now you will be glad tomorrow that you didn't gave up today!
    Learning now about your self will bring you a much more open minded and fullfilled life! GO OUT THERE AND BE GREAT !!!

    You may as well be at 0, because even watching Porn in itself is a relapse. Your neuro pathways are still sparking so you arent healing. No PMO means no porn at all. Not touching or orgasm is the other 2/3. Anyone on here would tell you this isnt the way to do Nofap if you're looking for results. I wish you luck!

    I partially agree with you. I think that watching P does harm your progress, but the entire PMO process is far worse. As this only happened in the past 2-3 days, I'm keeping my streak. And I'm going to fight this even harder now. Thank you!

    As you already know you have got to stop watching porn as well, but this shows how you can change your habits. Watching porn without fapping can be pretty tough for some, but it seems like you have at least partially broken this habit [ although it will eventually lead to fapping] While it's hard right now to not watch porn just like with the fapping you can break the habit.

  9. In my experience this is just a trick the mind plays on you.
    It is a slippery slope... you may be able to watch P a couple of times without edging or anything, after a few times you will be back at square one. Several streaks of mine have ended in this fashion. Edging is in the mind as well as the body.

    If you can accept you are addicted, P has no more part in your life and is most definitely no good can come from watching it.

    Watching porn but no masturbation, you're mistaken man. That was intentional. You should know better than this man. Better find something else to look at such as animals.

    There's no way you could watch porn and still be on the streak. If you're serious you gotta reset and start a new streak without watching any porn

    Think about other healthy, constructive, things you can do with your time other than watching P. Read a good (noP) book. Learn a new language. Practice sports. Volunteer at a local charity or social organization - they always need help ! Activities that involve interacting with others can be very helpful in overcoming the isolation that PMO brings.

    Think about all the great and wonderful things you can do, pick one or two, and get busy !

    Short version: DO NOT EDGE ! EVER !

    Edging is really bad. Edging trains your body and mind to expect and to need prolonged, often very intense, stimulation in order to reach O. That level of mental and physical stimulation doesn't happen with PIV relations. Guess what: when you attempt PIV, your body and mind don't receive the kind of stimulation it needs to O, instead your body responds with PIED and DE. Not good.

    Edging does NOTHING good, so stop. Easier said than done, but it is certainly NOT impossible and very much worth every bit of effort required to stop this damaging activity.

    As somebody already else said how can you watch porn and still have a streak going? Unless you don't have a problem with porn. And who doesn't edge while watching porn? I find it hard to believe (Sorry) that you can watch porn and not touch your penis

    But if you can Kudos. I can't watch porn period, it will consume me like wild fire, I'll be spanking the monkey all day and won't get shit done. Day after Day

    Be careful man. Seems like your Brain is trying to justify watching porn, usually addicts brains will do this to them

    If your objective is to reboot and fix the brain then dont watch Porn. For the reasons others posted. This is about making a new lifestyle so you cant hold on to the bad habits of the past. What you are doing is like going to the China buffet and staring at food, sniffing at food but not eating. Youre like a window shopper
     
  18. What were your goals originally? If you watch porn, maybe you can detach yourself from it and look at it like a documentary or from a cinematic perspective. Try to see how it's an illusion. Look at the angles and the editing. Meditate on how "disgusting" or "degenerate" it is. Ask yourself, "Am I really attracted to THAT?"
