The first example I can think of is lesbian porn. In that scenario the appeal is a lot more voyeuristic- you don't project yourself into the scene, you just watch two women you find attractive going at it, and observe as a third party.

In general, humans are competitive animals. The argument for cuckoldry is that human males become more aroused when they feel the need to compete for sex. I'm not saying I agree with this, I think cuckoldry is gross, but the argument is there.

If all you end up doing after being aroused by the need to compete for sex is rub one out, that would lead to no benefit and in fact, would cause deficit. Simply existing in a social environment puts you at competition with other men to get potential mates i.e. women.

As for the lesbian porn scenario, I guess it's an exception. But I know you agree with me on the fact that it's still disgusting and that real sex is better than any form of artificial pixel stimulation that you could ever get on a computer screen.
 
Interesting perspective. Didn't really think of it this way during my 6 years journey of trying to quit porn. Not sure if I agree entirely with this statement (as there are many other fetishes out there as well), but I definitely agree that watching porn is bad in view of the adverse effects on the brain and relationships etc.

I am glad to read this. I agree completely. I figure you are watching in two ways. Either you are watching the guys and therfore, you may have some at least bi-curious leanings. i feel like this is a partial truth, humans like others animals who do not have a mating season absolutely have sex for others reason than procreation. These types of animals like humans can have sex as often as they like purely for pleasure as they have been recorded having oral sex or sex while the female is pregnant or lactating none of which can lead to procreation, whats more many animals have also been observed masturbating. The only difference in this between humans and other animals is a) humans can use a medium other than their imagination for M and b) alone of all animals humans make such a big deal out of sex haha, no other animal hide for sex or would even feel the need to shame others for masturbating, only humans do this.
