I like to now consider myself a counter-cultural rebel against our hyper-sexualized culture where the porn industry has a negative social impact across the classes. Just like other industries, the porn industry also wields a lot of power on society and it can even lobby in the government too. But it is us consumers who are driving the demand for more and more and more and more porn. The porn industry just perpetuates our hurtful porn culture and children growing up in this culture are socialized into believing porn is good but end up having unhealthy attitudes about sex, especially when men interact with women.

We need to change people's minds and turn their hearts against this dreadful business. Revolt against the mindset of porn. Lets make revolution!

I found this great resource after someone introduced me to Dr. Gail Dines. http://stoppornculture.org/

I really really wish we could but with drug legalization and gay marriage this country is getting more and more liberal. If anything they'll make porn more accessible in the coming years. The only thing we can do now is start a petition to get congress to pass a law that would separate porn from normal websites. Kind of like with cable you have to get a separate package to watch porn. At least that way kids won't get hooked on it at a young age like we did.

We also need to change our mind on the whole "hook up" culture. Hooking up with girls and then leaving them for dead I believe actually promotes PMO (a quick fix). Hooking up can just involve you and a girl and the need for sex for both parties. Everyone is at stake b/c it affects the health of the community in ways that can't be seen. For instance, if I try and talk to a girl in a normal way through text/email/chat or even (dare say I) a phone call--if that girl has been through a hook up, my chances of winning her and keeping her fall drastically. Think about it. Porn and the hidden things associated with it like a "hook ups" changes the culture and many lives in a drastic way.
