I’m using rippetoe app but I would like to have a workout that involves more reps per set. Also, I just bought a rower (concept 2) so may need your prayers as the wife doesn’t approve of my purchases.

    Haha

I do HIT high intensity training by dorian yates. You train heavy and 8-12 reps per main set.

Thanks, is there an app for this? I’m kind of slow on these things and need the warmups and workouts spelled out . Hence I love the rippetoes app as it tells me to start with empty barbell, then rest 90sec etc

Also you can hear about his training style on YouTube, he is quite unique its a powerlifting type of bodybuilding you train heavy and intense but more reps than powerlifting. The workout it's less than an hour 35-45 min you do it 3 or 4 times a week.

He trained like that even as a Mr Olympia it's quality over quantity training, quite revolutionary.

Brother, 338 days? How did you do it? To be frank im at a low point. Feel rejected as my religious family is celebrating but I’m more of an Atheist. Wife and I are not on the same page. I would have used porn but I understand it’s not a solution but a medication that has side effects worse than my struggle. How do I lift my mood? Barbell?

I'm also sticking with Starting Strength. I don't have time for inefficient workouts

Not sure how old you are, it I’m 45. That progression is insane for me. Also I had surgery recently so am stuck at 125-130lbs for my squat. But using higher reps too.

I try to keep my workouts efficient as possible.

I'm at an intermediate phase in my strength training so I can nolonger jump weights between workouts.

I lift four days a week. Each day dedicated to a compound.

    The work out as follows

I warm up to 70%-90% of my max depending on the working intensity four the day and I do four giant sets

    1. antagonist movement (If I'm benching I'm doing rows/pull ups)/Explosive movement (if im squatting I'll do box jumps or sand bag throws)
    2. man mover (squat, dead, ohp, bench)
    3. core variation
    4. conditioning (sprinting, ropes, carries, etc)

I do them in rapid succession and rest from 1-3 mins and repeat four times

    Then I move to assistance

I pick three exercises and do them in giant sets like the main mover in rapid succession for 3-5 sets.

Then I'm done. Usually takes an hour - hour n half
