what am i doing with my life

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jan 1, 2023.

  1. what am i doing man, i sit in my room all day when i know it’s just gonna lead to relapse…i’ve been on no fall for a year..and my longest streak is 35 days, the rest of them are 2-10 days…i do the same routine when i relapse..get tired, go lay in bed, start getting bored, peek, relapse. Nows the time i would ask if any of y’all have tips but i think i’m too lazy to apply those tips to my journey. Makes me sad thinking about how i used to be..happy always had energy always wanted to go places..now i’m just boring:( well i’ll never give up this journey but i also not sure if i’ll ever beat it..

We all of us have the power within us to overcome PMO if we will just use it. You did 35 days, you can do it again. Best wishes..

I feel u this is also my issue too it gets real depressing after A while best we can do is just push and try to keep busy but it’s also hard cause bein home all day with nothing to do can lead to other things like me I end up finding myself peeking at stuff I shouldn’t be, gotta find other hobbies

As you have mentioned, you are bored. So it's time for you to think about your life goals. Without directions, one would only think about stimulations and fulfillment of desires (e.g. PMO, junk food, drinking...etc). We need to learn to change our mindsets, that life isn't about hedonism. We have our life responsibilities: to serve the community, so try to think about how to make good use of your free time to do that. For example, you can start thinking about how to improve yourself in different areas first, so as to make yourself more capable to serve the others in the future. Break your goals into tiny steps so you don't get overwhelmed.

Make your life a challenge. We humans feel good about overcoming challenges. Stop taking "shortcuts" to happiness. Real rewards and happiness can only be found through the input of time and effort.

  6. I can relate with being lazy and then relapsing out of pure boredom. The clue is in the picture you presented in your post. You need to get out of your room and step out of your comfort zone, it is the only way. Force yourself with every ounce of energy to go out and commit to a hobby. An activity that will distract you in the long term. I may suggest one as an example and it is an effective hobby to be involved with... a jiujitsu gym. Or any hobby that requires physical impact. You will be releasing that negative energy and as a benefit you will experience a lot more positivity than being in a closed room with nothing to look forward too. That is my advice. Take one day at a time and see how you can conquer the lazy nature.
