What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

Hey, I know it is a social construct and has become extremely commercialised but it still doesn't change the fact that VD is very 'in your face', especially when you're lonely. What will you be doing on that day? Are you trying to find last minute dates? Are you just not gonna care? Will you be extra cautious not to get triggered and relapse on VD?

Okay, so that's next Wednesday. I guess nothing special is in plan. I'll try not to expose too much to the "in your face" situations" and yeah, it can be a lonely time. I tend to overthink a lot as it is, and this is like a clear reminder "Where's YOUR boyfriend?". Kinda stabs you real good. How 'bout we watch something non-Valentine-ish, for those who got more time during that working day? Evil Dead (the old version)? Some old horror classic. Watching people get crossed off the list definitely takes the edge off rose petals.

 

I haven't thought of valentines day ,but I know over the years before I started getting serious about working on myself I would be down thinking that this sucks to be alone what do other people around me think. Now I refuse to talk to myself negatively and I repsect myself and my time and don't waste it in on a fake holiday that trys to get you to buy flowers and diamonds and cards. if a women you are dating needs that stuff from you need to relize its 2 way street I would ask her "what are you getting me? If your single don't sweet it ,use your valuble time on something else and don't change yourself for a women find ones that like you just as you are and ditch the rest.

Im going to try to focus all my strength and will power and try really hard not to think about my ex. Going be a long day .

 

Do high reps. On my light days i do sets of 15 plus on front squats and reverse lunges. Trust me you will be tired but use weights tht will challenge you. J ust because i do high reps i still use heavy weights

 

Um as my Italian colleague recommends...treat Vday like any other day.
The girl will probably hold a grudge, but I truly believe it's a stupid holiday. If you like someone do something special outside of Valentine's day, VDay is tacky and all these girls who expect massive gestures from their man are spoiled...we shouldn't be told when to have a gf and what day to treat her special

 

If it feels like that, you are probably on social media too much. Stay off it and it won't be in your face at all.
