There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing devil's advocate.

But at the moment you don't seem to have so many options. You appear to have:

    1. NoFap
    2. err,
    3. that's it...

Using ED meds. Thats like saying if you have cancer its better to rub peanut butter on your feet than to do nothing because that is your only option.

Have you seen a urologist? They can rule out any physical problems.

But with PIED, some people have a similar issue, where they have to keep changing the stimulus to maintain an erection because the dopamine receptors in their brain are dulled from a ton of porn use. In time, when the brain adds more dopamine receptions when it is safe to do so (i.e. they are not overwhelmed with unnatural levels of stimulation caused by porn), then maybe you will be able to say aroused.

I would also highly recommend that you not masturbate whilst semi-hard because if you read stories on the forums of other people that have done this, they have seemed to have a much harder time with recovery. I'm not sure about the case/effect relationship here, but you might as well be safe.

I’ve used the pills and NoFap. NoFap has produced much better results.

You mentioned that those other sources don't offer solutions. Anyway, ok, you have a second option. Take medication. Good luck with that...

As for your funny cancer analogy - ridiculously, rubbing peanut butter on your feet would probably be better than doing nothing because of how the human mind works, and the potential placebo benefits. The action would evidence a positive attitude over resignation - and attitude is correlated with outcome.

But studies have shown that porn does not burn out dopamine receptors.

Google psychologytoday your brain on porn

It's the first link(for some reason I can't post links even though I meet the criteria)

It does something. That's for sure. I masturbated to porn for years and years. I never had issues. I also had sex with women without issues. The moment I stopped watching porn, just 1.5 weeks later, I couldn't get an erection. I know porn does something to the brain because of that experience. I have never had ED issues before, and my experience matches with a lot of other guys that have posted on here.

I thought quitting porn was going to bring back my erections not kill them further?

Yes me too. But there you go. One thing I have learnt is that medical problems are not always straightforward and the body works in ways that are not necessarily as per our logic would suggest.

I decided to quit porn for lifestyle reasons. I never had ED issues, or issues having sex with real women (apart from occasional performance anxiety with a new girl I don't know that well).

And what happens when I decided to quit porn? 1.5 weeks after and BAM...it stops working. And every week after that it got even worse! I'm only starting to see myself regain some function now - nearly 3 months later.

I read other guys stories and their experiences matches with mine. The flatline.

So just be aware that the body is really complex, not necessarily logical, and there is a lot more to this than what the research knows yet. Also, people are different due to genetic diversity, so with some guys, they can still watch porn and hardly have any issues with ED or girls or none at all. Other guys don't get ED or PIED, but they get other issues from porn. It's all quite varied.

My erections were fine for a bit now its more of the same. I lose my erection after 5-10 minutes and I have to work hard to get it back! Please give me some help guys,I am desperate. I used to be able to jack off for up to 2 hours without losing an erection. My erection problems got worse after I slept with a fat woman around 7 months ago and I kept losing my erection/almost puking because of the smell. Any ideas?

Go with NoFap, report after 90+ days!

After 60+ days for me, I'm starting to have rock hard erections :)

I have not. I tried nofap for like 6 weeks before. No hard evidence that stopping porn is going to cure me. Only thing I can see that is plausible is the penis growing desensitized. I suspect something organic is going on. I start out with a nice thick erection and as I start masturbating the erection begins to fade and I end up cumming with a semi. Something here is not right.

L Arginine helps with blood flow so if you are soft or get soft it should help but weak erections are a symptom of other issues such as heart disease etc. I’d suggest a doctors visit.

I thought everyone here just said quitting porn would fix my problem. What do you want the doctor to do about it? I don't have high blood pressure, only thing I haven't used is caverject.

It takes time, just like everything else in the world.

Give it 90 days (No masturbation or porn) and if it's not better, go and see a doctor.

Might be that after choking the chicken for 9 years your ischiocavernosus and bulbospongiosus are weak, or just tight. These are the muscles responsible for a strong erection. If your libido isn't affected this may be your problem.

I'm any case rest and a doctor visit sounds like a good idea. A "trusted prpfessional" opinion is always good to have.

Yo your post was pretty helpful,I appreciate it. My libido for sure isn't affected, for 5 of those 9 years I used lube but if I use lube to masturbate I lose my erection.
