What is the difference?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Dec 10, 2021.

  1. I just want to hear what the rest of the people on this forum say.
What is the difference between seeing a sexy woman on a picture on your phone, TV or a magazine and seeing a sexy woman perhaps on the street or anywhere at all.
    Is there any difference?

Yeah the difference is whether or not you’re in the privacy your home. Hopefully you aren’t such a degenerate that you would consider masturbating after seeing a woman out in public. In the privacy of your home the temptation to m is a lot greater, for most.

Not sure I understand the question.

One is real woman infront of you, the other one are pixels? There is a big difference, but I cannot explain it in a detailed way for some odd reason.

Who we are is the question. This makes the difference in my opinion
    let me explain

In the case of a porn addict, a fapper, his brain tells him to get that dopamine spike and fap in front of the image (or at least fantatize)
Same for the girl in real life (except for public masturbation ahahha)

In the case of a non-addict, his brain see the image and: "ok, nice girl... so what?"
While if he sees that girl in real life, he will chase her, try to get an interaction with her

The context in the same but the output of the brain is different

  6. No I'm not that sick that I would do that. I just thought that it would mess with the brain in the same way.

  7. Thank you for your input.

As stated before one is real one is pixels on a screen .

There is a big difference besides the obvious reality .

But Your brain doesn't know the difference it does on the other hand know the difference the environment you are in.

Porn has a way of removing borders

I actually would disagree, I think our brain can tell the difference and that's why the reaction is so different. If we see a picture of a hungry tiger, we think "oh cool, a tiger" and thats that. But if one is in front of you in real life, there would be a crazy release of adrenaline along with many physiological symptoms.

If we see a picture of a woman in a bikini, its the same thing. We think "oh look, an attractive woman". But if that same woman knocked on your door in 5 minutes, the reaction would be quite different.

A picture of an attractive woman is nothing special when the panicky desire to search for P is removed from the equation.

That's what I mean it knows the difference in the environment . Environment has a massive effect on how you respond

By environment, do you mean just the actual place you're in, or the fact that something is actively present in your environment?

The actual place you are in . But you could say both . There is safety in a fake world such as porn .

  13. I truly think that the fact that I only have contact with people through text 99% of the time did a lot of damage to me over the last few years. That's the short conclusion of it.

True, but I would argue that its 1% environment 99% whether or not it's real in terms of our response.

Imagine you're chilling next to a body of water in Florida and you look up a picture or video of an alligator. This might cause you to start thinking about an alligator coming out of the water which could make you slightly uncomfortable, but your brain is still fully aware that despite the environment being perfect for that thing being real, its still not real. You're not going to jump out of your seat with a fight or flight response.
