We all know that addictions are harmful, and we all have reasons for quitting them. These are mine.

Masturbation and porn is a complete waste of time which could be spent productively elsewhere.

It distorts my view of women and sex

It leads me to have social anxiety and sometimes even depression

It shows that I lack any sort of self control inside me and that i'm weak both mentally and physically

These are the main four reasons I have chosen to fully rid my mind and body out of PMO. I have relapsed enough and collected a lot of data on how to stop PMO personally. I think it's time.

I would also like to hear your reasons for quitting PMO, hopefully it will strengthen both our resolves. Thank you.

escape into a porn-dreamworld - loosing sense for reality.

    this is my main reason.

    Hey banana,

I think that the main reason for me would be the distortion of my view of the women and sex. This messed with my mind so bad that I caught myself pressuring my wife to have a performance of a pornstar. It can be naive, but my concept of women and sex was so distorted that I was actually getting to believe that the pornstars really enjoy what they were doing... I just broke that concept when I found the pink cross website.

    The other reasons are:

    - To save my married
    - To have self control of my body and mind
    - To stop having that continuous feeling that I'm doing something wrong
    - To not encourage an industry that destroy thousands of lives every year and, take advantage of desperate people

    I have many reasons.
The thing that really makes me think and take it seriously is the fact that ever since I was about 14-15 I would MO every day on average. as I grew up it becamae PMO and not MO using fantasies about girls I know.
I barely had any periods longer than a week without at least MO. and I'm 30 years old now.

I'm so curious as to what effect this has on me, so that only to discover what feeling clean from it would be like I'm willing to give it my everything

I have many reasons as well. Mostly because I want sex to be better. In my mind I have created a better than reality sex expectation and I don't like that it never lives up.

I have two reasons in common with you, and those are the distortion of women and sex, and the depression caused by pmo-ing. My strongest motivation came when I realized that if I did not stop now, I could not stop even into my future marriage. I was scared of losing my wife, my family, my legacy—before I even had them.

So I decided that it was time to quit. It feels so freeing, so beautiful to know that pmo is not a part of my life anymore. I wish you the best with your journey. Always let us know if you need support. We got you!

To escape the punishment of Babylon.
    To stop supporting this evil.
To restore the light within me.
So that I may be able to help others.

Never give up. This dark tunnel does end, and will.

Banana, you gave a good short list. I agree on all of those.
For me I'll add: If I continue on this path, it will destroy me.
I will lose my job, my friends, my wife, my sense of selfe. Heck I might even get an STD considering the coolidge effect. Who knows what stupid choices I'll make with others?
