Truth is, majority of women are also attracted to the female body. And majority of young women today (under 25) identify as bi-sexual. Statistic may vary.
Women I've spoken to who are into female porn, but don't identify as gay, say it simply is just what turned them on. Something about the act, not the actors per se, that aroused them and helped them get off. I've seen wives of porn addicts on this site also admit, that whenever they'd watch porn, it was lesbian action. Whether or not they're attracted to women, or if it's because that way they don't feel like they're cheating, it varies.
When women are into porn, they're usually into more hardcore categories by default. Honestly most of the high production stuff on pornhub is targeted at women.
Female arousal is a very complex subject overall. It's fascinating to me personally. When a woman is aroused, she's very aroused and into it. Another interesting thing to note, is that one of the symptoms of bi-polar personality disorder includes massive arousal and obession with sex. This is another thing I've noted for myself in the real world.
When it comes to both genders, I think the attraction to porn is a mix of both the actors and the act. We find the actors attractive in some way, either they remind us of a relationship or past one, and then the act itself we fantasize about. It could just be that a lot of women get turned on by the idea of having sex with other women, because women understand their own bodies more than men of course. So technically they'd get more pleasure out of it than with a man who still needs to learn how to please her.

 

To give you my answer as a female is that The only part of porn that appealed to me was PIV and nothing else, I always skipped whenever something other than it was on screen.
And for revolver guy's answer, women are attracted to male bodies, I know because I am female who was in contact with similar females as one of them summerized the whole issue by "I want the parts that my body lacks". This is not surprising, it is the fundamental rule of heterosexuality in everytime and place.
I think reading about studies on mainstream media will not get you very far with all it's shallow and stereotyped view on female sexuality. The old myth about "men being more visual, and women more emotional" sadly still persists in people's minds. Women like men's bodies as well you know, and many are not ashamed to comment on male nudes online calling the men handsome and attractive. Also, heterosexual male escorts pose nude for that reason I presume.
To answer you question, women get addicted to porn because they are influenced by visual stimuli as much as men. And female porn users rarely get into the same content as their male counterpart, hence the "female friendly porn". But in my opinion porn has never been friendly to anyone, including the male population that consumes it lavishly and excessively.

 

I never said they weren't; I was just replying to OPs statement about "most porn is focused on the female body" and that's why I explained men or women aren't necessarily attracted to the other sex exclusively.

There is porn that shows both the man and woman's faces and even their whole bodies. This is the kind of porn frequently labeled as "female friendly", while it just shows the act of intercourse as should be, and nothing really special or extraordinary. Yes it is very frustrating not to see the male's face and it leaves many women imagining what he must look like (degree of attractiveness), but many have learned to be content with just seeing the act of penetration and feel aroused by it.
Women who exhibit this attitude while going to clubs are generally immature and can't live independently. I personally have no respect for this type of women, they have vastly limitted their whole value to the presence of a male partner and obviously can't do much on their own. Deep down , they do not respect their own mindset and only abide to gender roles because they don't have the guts to live otherwise.

 

The answer is ambigious , there are women who do for sure. But I have never understood why.
