What NoFap did/means for me

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Mar 23, 2019.

  1. Today I woke up motivated as fuck and I feel like expressing myself about nofap so here we go.

I been trying on nofap since November 2018, that’s near 4 months give or take a few weeks. My longer streak was 30 days. Now I’m in my second longer streak without masturbation of 17 days (the counter reset means I watched porn).

Here is my insight on the whole nofap thing:

    1) Porn is without any doubt an addiction. I have quitted other addictions before, I went cold turkey for months without coffee, I also quitted sodas and sugar. Porn is way more difficult to quit IMO.

    2) NoFap attraction is a thing: Don’t know why maybe is just that I feel way more confident or my skin is better whatever I totally see girls checking me out.

    3) About social anxiety/depression: I feel more confident around social situations. I used to have like crazy tachycardia when I heard my phone ringing now I feel eager to hear about the other person in the other side of the line. I also try really hard to find excuses to go outside my comfort zone I embrace social awkwardness.

    4) I sleep way better: I sleep less but better, I sleep around 6-8 hours at night, I also have crazy dreams recollection, I think that means better REM sleep.

    5) Cold showers are cool: It is a metaphor for NoFap/not using porn, I bet just only the .1% of men take cold showers, same proportion of people against porn.

    6) Way more free time: I used to watch porn just of boredom I even paused tv shows and movies to take a quick peek of porn.

    7) The statement of “I don’t watch porn and masturbate” beats the heck out of “I’m trying of quitting…”
