Hello, I am a male of 24 years. Below is a short story that I hope tells you guys how I got addicted to porn and being a slave to pornography for 10 long years, how I have finally found this invaluable community.

PART 1: Like so many other boys I was introduced to porn about 15 years ago. At first I was plainly disgusted by this onscreen act, but with time my disgust gave way to innocent thrill. I started sneaking a glance or two at porn on a weekly basis. At the same time I noticed that a quiet uneasiness had started to develop between me and some of my female friends who used to be good talking buddies earlier.

PART 2: Although not crystal clear about it, I could sense that my normal adolescent feeling toward girls had begun to escalate into the territory of what I now know as female objectification. Fantasising about attractive female friends and getting off to the thought had become normal.
The sad thing is that it was weighing down on my studies. I became increasingly uninterested in topics which had once been dear to me. My results were accordingly spiralling downward. The frustration again pushed me toward more extreme genres of pornography. Another thing that was devastating to me was the knowledge that I was becoming colder and more silent around my family. Rather than sharing thoughts warmheartedly with them, I found myself clicking away at my laptop.
The extent of my porn addiction can be fathomed from the following two instances:
    i) I once skipped bath and lunch sitting up before my laptop.
ii) I skipped a class test and missed the submission date for my dissertation.

PART 3: Being an introvert, I could assess the devastating effect porn had on me. It derailed my career wheel and I was gripped with anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and what not. However, I have been on constant look out for means to pull myself off from porn. My previous attempts have not worked as I was unaware if the machinery behind this addiction. Fortunately, some NoFap videos on YouTube caught my attention and subsequently, I ended up here.
I thank God the almighty for showing me the right place

Same here , reboot will take less time if you're not facing any physical problems or sexual ones because that informs that your kidney is still okay but either ways if you start your reboot correctly and start working out and taking care of your mental and physical health you will reboot in a shorter period of time

  4. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal, we could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!
