One thing I've done is completely cut out soda from my life and consume a lot of water. I also add some electrolyte powder to help with hydration and energy. I must say I feel great!

  2. God, good for you. Soda is shit, pardon my vulgarity.

Since I'm here, figured I'd share my November habit of only eating salad in the evening, five nights a week, break two days. Light dinners, and eating lighter after dark, helps with sexual urges.

  3. I no longer take 600 "friends" when going out to socialise nor do I keep them informed of my evening. If they wanna have facetime, sure they can meet me at the bar and converse in my presence, not through a fuckin screen.

Ditching alarm clocks is a good one, its hard to trust it if you have important place to be. Our brains are designed to wake up naturally. I believe alarm clocks increase cortisol leading to more stress anxiety.

  8. @ronswanson wanson Social media has it's place still but on my pc at home on my desk. and that's as far as it goes.

With the clocks. I've also turned off all electronic clocks at home and just used the one on my cell phone. No wall clocks either. It's so liberating. Weird at first as you want to know the time all the time but like any addiction it fades gradually. Yes i believe time, scheduling and having to know the time constantly is also an addiction and a prison. I feel so liberated this year.

I totally agree. I have a 10 minute daily maximum for Facebook (unless it's for work or I'm trying to organise something with someone who can't be contacted in any other way) and it has made a massive difference. The amount of hours my past self has wasted on mindlessly scrolling through my newsfeed is terrifying. I sometimes wonder how much it taps into a similar part of the brain that mindlessly watches porn for hours on end.

  10. I've been a very heavy fb user for 5 years but a few weeks into nofap i just felt the urge to remove all from my phone, twitter, fb, instagram, messenger. without a second thought. and i haven't installed since. Nofap really gave me the push to do that. if i can control my sex urges and not dissipate them down the toilet i can damn near tackle anything in time.

  11. Over the last six months or so I ended up doing quite a few things to turn my life around:

    - I sold / donated all of my video game consoles.
    - I disconnected my internet (so the only way I can access it is to go out to a public place)
    - I started meditating for ~10 minutes in the morning.
    - I started taking cold showers.
    - I mostly quit caffeine, although there's still the odd slip up here and there.
    - Yesterday, I joined the gym, and I'm loving it so far!

I'm starting to tackle each of these in sequence. I'll struggle for a couple of months with one goal, but eventually I adapt and it becomes a part of life. Then I move onto the next. So on and so forth until I become the person I want to be.

My next goals will be orientated around becoming more social with people. This is what everything above has really been leading up to; getting enough mental stability in my life to form long term friendships. Around a year ago, I would often be depressed and disinterested for no good reason, which was a real struggle for my friends as they had no idea why I was falling apart.
