What to do to overcome PIED?

    Hi everybody.

    I'm 19 years old and I have done PMO for at least 6 years. During this time, I sometimes had problems with my erections while being intimate with a girl. Recently, I started dating a girl that I really like, and I'm having one of the most meaningful relationships I've ever had. The problem is, even now that I despise every aspect about porn and I haven't masturbated to it since last month, I don't seem to be able to obtain a full erection while being with her, just a 40-50% one. Yesterday I tried to see if i could get one by watching porn and I had one full erection in just 2 minutes. Judging by this, and the fact that I don't have any illness other than Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism (which is treated) I've decided to start my journey here and stop PMO, since that is the main root to my problem, a problem that sadly has been with me for far too long.

    Some things that I really wanted to ask you guys are:
    - Your experiences with nofap and what should I do while being in it (exercise, meditating, etc.)
    - How long does the flatline last
    - If it is ok to be intimate with my girl during this process (I've read that it is beneficial to be intimate during nofap, and even masturbate while thinking about your girlfriend/boyfriend, as long as porn isn't implicated)
    - How to deal with stress (I'm a med student so I'm really stressed most of the time, I wanted to know how to deal with it, specially during flatline)
    - Who should I tell about this

    Every experience regarding any of those topics I previously wrote is of really high value to me, so please, write as much as you want.

    Im 22 years old and started rebooting by your age. I have fixed pied so im here to answer you those questions as we have shortly the same addiction "background". First of all i want to make it clear that english is not my native language so excuse me but i will do my best. I will answer all your questions one by one (what worked for me) and then give you my insights on how to fight it efficiently.

    Nofap is the real solution. I doubt it at first by telling myself that there are other underlying problems (low t, depression etc) It solved my problem so it works.
    Hobbies are good but are not crucial, of course it can boost your reboot but it won't do magic alone.
    im practiting meditation and i exercise a lot as im a wing chun practitioner (5 times a week for 10 hours totally)

    Being intimate with your girlfriend is the best you can do. You can do whatever you want actually with your girlfriend and only ( So don't masturbate fantasizing even your gf). Eliminate masturbation and forget about it. If you want something ask your gf.Be careful with orgasms as it will trigger you with the "Chaser effect" and you can eventually relapse. Im still very careful when dealing with orgasms.

    Im having trouble with anxiety a lot still as i have this problem since i was a child so im not the one who will answer this efficiently.

    You have to say this to your girlfriend. I have made it twice and it helps not only you but your gf too not to think that she isnt hot. If she loves you she will support you. My gf does that.

    So my insights. Never ever lose your courage. This will be a long fight. No magic number like 90 days. Im still seeing improvements. Actually for me good erections started after 150 days. Relapses will exist it's 99.9% sure. What you need to do is FOCUS ON GREATER STREAK THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE AND NEVER BINGE. I can't emphasize how much this is importand. Wish someone had told that. For example if you relapse on day 7 then say that it's ok and the next fight will be better aiming for 10 days. Just dont binge cause you failed once and resetted your counter. THIS IS A BIG MISTAKE THAT YOU WILL PAY IF YOU DO.

    Thanks for giving me the point of a person who beat pied. It's a whole other world of insight for me.
    As you wrote, you recommend that I should not masturbate at all. The problem is, I had done prone masturbation for a while and the cure needs to be done by masturbating. I plan to do this as healthystrokes said, only thinking about my gf. I even think that, because I'm so into the habit of prone, that I find it hard for me when she's below me. I need to feel more aroused when being in other positions. This is something that I need to solve. But I will, by no means, use porn to do it, even if it is recommended. I have watched too many pixels.

    I'm sceptical about telling my gf. On one hand, she only knew about O last year (she's 20) and is super easy to make her O, so I wouldn't have that much of a problem during flatline, and could even do nofap with me to have a better O resistance. But on the other hand, I'm afraid that she decides to stop talking because of this. Maybe time will tell.

    I have yet to visit my doctor and see my blood tests to check if I have any physiologic problems (which I don't think is the cause, but it is just to check). And I plan to see a therapist, but I've read that they aren't that effective.

    I had the same prone thing problem and i fixed it with time and engaging sex..sometimes i did some kegels. This sounds more neurological/psychological than physiological. I would not masturbate but if you choose to do so do it without porn.
    Never ever binge if you relapse on porn. Good luck in your journey !

  5. Hey OP, i can relate with the telling the girlfriend. I am super anxious all the time because i havent told her and i have continued to PMO for so long. Jsut that situation alone has really messed me up. I dont know what your girl would do, not sure what mine will (been together 10 yrs, and she is the most compassionate person i know, even though shes had enough of my lack of everything).

    But hiding it has made me miserable, and doing PMO has to so theres only one way to go from there.

    Just one question, to fix prone M, did you masturbate like healthystrokes said, or you just did nofap for a while?

    Don't worry im here to help you so don't be afraid to ask me anything on pied.
    My pied got fix gradually. I didn't do any M. Kegels in my opinion is way better than non-prone masturbation as it will make your brain recover faster and not fluid with dopamine.
    Squats and leg exercises in general always do the trick for me and make my erections bigger when i engage in sex.

    Do some squats or light kegels..dont rush into kegels as it made me Pe for a week or two cause i was overdoing it
    I would suggest 3times per week.
    Also, running is very good for boosting your reboot

    I heard reverse kegels are better than normal ones, was it just the regular ones you were doing? Also how long were you in a flatline for? I’m on 87 days and feel like I’ve been in one since the start, been taking some natural supplements to help

    Oh I see. My idea was to do kegels a few days a week only. Sadly my country is under covid19 lockdown so no running allowed lol. I still do some pushups and I will do some other exercises like squats

    Hi man. I'm not as into kegels and stuff as united, but I've read that both kegels and reverse kegels are benefitial to help you with ed. But I guess that by doing kegels first, and then doing reverse ones, you can train and then stretch the muscles involved, which may help you with ed even faster

    In my opinion don't do kegels if you are totally beginner. Do some squats or lunges or some lying butt lifts as they are great for leg strength and also help your BC muscle that kegel exercises do. I suggest a good 3-4days/week program for legs with squats lunges and lying butt lifts.
    In my journey i had tons of flatlines. I rebooted with a partner so my hardmode streaks were limited to max 1 month.
    After almost every session i would get one that would last from one to three weeks. Good news is that as time was passing my flatline duration got shortened. Now i get one that last 2-4 days. Are you doing hardmode?

    My research on this (isn't verified and i'm not a doctor, just spent days searching) made me think that prone masturbation or harsh masturbation was hurting the bc muscle that physically triggers erections. You can physically hard yourself masturbating in a wrong way. So if our bc is not strong enough we must strengthen that muscle.
    Now problem is that pied is in mind, not a physical thing, so if you cant get erections you cant train that muscle to last if it is weak. With that been said you dont need to masturbate or trigger your penis to get one as the exercises that i said are more than enough to do the job.

    Yes I’m doing hard mode, I’m talking to a girl atm and will probably be starting to do sexual stuff soon, I’ve been doing a lot of leg/yoga stretches recently aswell.
